NBA Thursday Games Recap: Under Bettors Keep Cashing

Bucks Steal Comeback Win in Marquee Game

Giannis Shines on National Spotlight

Giannis Antetokounmpo stamped his claim for a third MVP when as his 54 points and 19 rebounds helped the Milwaukee Bucks to a huge comeback win over the LA Clippers. Let’s dive into our NBA Thursday Games Recap to see what went on around the league.

The Bucks rallied from 20-point down in the third quarter to secure a 106-105 win against the in-form Clippers. Milwaukee’s defense stepped up down the stretch as the home team held the Clippers scoreless over the final 3:50 of the game to steal an impressive win.

The Clippers did cover the spread though, closing as 4.0-point underdogs and never falling outside the number in a relatively straightforward cover. This was one of five games to stay Under the total on a seven-game slate, with the final score staying well below the 231.0 point number.

Knicks, Lakers Hold on for Dramatic Wins

The New York Knicks and LA Lakers secured tense wins in their respective matchups, with both their games also staying Under the total.

The Knicks secured a big 106-104 win as 3.0-point home underdogs over the Miami Heat on a night where they lost Jalen Brunson to illness just before tip-off. This total saw some strong move toward the Under, opening at 216.5 points before closing at 212.0 points and the Under never seemed in doubt in a slow paced matchup.

The Lakers picked up an important 112-111 road win over the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers welcomed back Tyrese Haliburton and the team looked a much more balanced and efficient outfit once more under his leadership.

The Pacers led by 14-points early in the fourth quarter but simply couldn’t hold on down the stretch as the Lakers used a 14-2 run to take a two point lead with 2:35 to play. Pat Beverley missed a pair of free throws to give Indiana a chance to steal the win, but Buddy Hield’s missed jumper was secured by Anthony Davis and the Lakers took a much needed win to round off their East coast road trip.

Despite the late collapse the Pacers did cover the +2.5 point handicap in a game that stayed 18 points Under the closing total of 240.5 points.

Nuggets win Again, Grizzlies & Pelicans Slide Continues

The Denver Nuggets secured another home win as they dispatched of the Golden State Warriors 134-117.

The Nuggets were 12.0-point favorites with the market assuming the Warriors were sitting all their starters, but following news that Steph Curry, Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole were available the market eventually settled at -7.0 points for the home team.

Ultimately, the final number didn’t matter as the Nuggets again flexed their offensive muscles against the team that booted them from the playoffs last season. The win leaves Denver comfortably in control of the NBA Northwest Division and looking on course to finish with the #1 seed in the Western Conference to match.

This was one of just two games to go Over the total, with the Nuggets offense playing a big part in propelling this one above the 237.5 point total.

The Cleveland Cavaliers offense also showed out to send their game Over the total as they finished up 128-113 winners over the slumping Memphis Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies failed to cover as 6.5-point road underdogs and have now lost seven of their last eight games. The team was without Jaren Jackson Jr and unsurprisingly couldn’t get stops as the Cavs had their way attacking the basket.

The New Orleans Pelicans recorded their 10th straight loss as they fell 111-106 in Dallas. The Mavericks opened up a 31 point lead on a night where weather issues wreaked havoc on the Pelicans arrival into Dallas.

Luka Doncic exited the game with a heel injury with the Mavs up 27 points, but things got tense down the stretch as the Pelicans got to within four points in the final minute. Despite scoring 70 points in the first half the Mavs were held to just 16 in the fourth quarter as this one managed to stay Under the 223.0 point total.
