NBA Tuesday Matchups Recaps: Lakers Bounce Back in NYC

Another Big Night for Road Teams

Lakers, Clippers Win Big on East Coast

The LA Lakers and LA Clippers both produced big wins on their east coast road trips on a night where home teams stumbled across the league. Let’s take a look at our NBA Tuesday Matchups Recaps and see how the markets performed.

The Lakers needed OT to overcome the New York Knicks 129-123 in front of a packed Madison Square Garden. The Lakers closed as 2.0-point underdogs and looked to have blown another game down the stretch after surrendering a six-point lead in the final minute of regulation.

The game going to OT was the only reason this game ultimately went Over the closing number, with the 231.5 point total being burnt by five extra minutes of high-scoring basketball.

Meanwhile, the LA Clippers overcame a 20-point first-half deficit to walk away with a 108-103 road win against the Chicago Bulls.

The Clippers closed as 2.5-point road favorites but looked to be another victim to a home underdog in the NBA as the Bulls offense came out scorching hot in the opening 15 minutes of action. Things went sour pretty quickly though as the Clippers went on a 20-4 run to go into halftime trailing by just four points.

The third quarter was a back-and-forth affair but the Clippers took an 83-82 lead with 1:30 to play in the period and never surrendered the lead the rest of the way. This total was steamed down from 230.5 points to a closing number of 226.0 points, but the final outcome comfortably ensured all Unders bettors cashed in this one.

Bucks, Heat Stay Hot

The Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat continue to trend upwards as they make up ground on the NBA standings 2022/23 campaign.

The Heat were big road winners against the Cleveland Cavaliers in one of the lowest scoring games of the season. Miami emerged with a 100-97 win to cover the 4.5-point spread while also ensuring this one stayed Under the low total of 211.0 points.

The Bucks got some revenge on division rivals Charlotte as they recorded a 124-115 win on their home court.

Despite the home side scoring a win, it was another ATS cover for the road team as the Hornets fell inside the +11.0 point handicap. The Hornets were all tied at 64-64 at the half but simply couldn’t sustain their offense down the stretch as they were outscored 20-7 over a 4:30 minute period to end the third and start the fourth.

Despite the high-scoring affair this one stayed Under the closing number of 244.5 points. It also stayed Under the opening number of 240.5 points by the slimmest of margins.

Nuggets Keep Crushing at Home

The Denver Nuggets recorded another straight up win and ATS cover on their home floor as they ousted the New Orleans Pelicans 122-113.

The Nuggets have been an NBA betting darling at home this season and their offense again flexed its muscles on national television as they handed the Pelicans their ninth straight loss.

The Nuggets closed as 6.0-point home favorites and despite the market pushing this number down in support of the Pelicans they ultimately proved to be the only home team to cover the spread. This was only the non-OT game to go Over the total as it sailed above the 231.5 point market.
