NBA Wednesday Games and Odds: Can Home Teams Sweep?
NBA Games Tonight that Lean Towards Hosts

NBA Betting Lines Favor Eight of 10 Home Teams
It’s a treat for home teams when looking at this NBA Wednesday’s games and odds. The betting lines favor eight of the 10 hosts to win. However, it won’t be easy for most of them. None are favored by more than eight points. Still, there is a slight chance we see home NBA teams sweep the board here as this is one of the NBA’s most competitive slates.
Bucks Lead as Biggest Favorites
The 2021 NBA champions lead home teams with an eight-point spread versus the Denver Nuggets. This is a duel of the NBA’s last two MVPs but Denver is coming off a narrow victory over New Orleans Pelicans just last night.
The Nuggets are 3-3 against the spread (ATS) when on the second night of a back-to-back but are 5-1 ATS in their last six games in Milwaukee.
Speaking of potentially tired teams, the Los Angeles Lakers (-6) are still favored moderately over San Antonio. The Lakers got blown out by the Los Angeles Clippers last night and they take on a Spurs team that is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games.
Favored by the same spread are the Orlando Magic (-6). This surprising team has been a solid bet in NBA picks and parlays and are 15-9 ATS at home. Indiana misses several key players like star guard Tyrese Haliburton (elbow).
In what was supposed to be a battle of Eastern Conference powers, the 76ers should now beat Brooklyn as five-point favorites. Brooklyn is just 2-4 since losing Kevin Durant to an injury (knee). As the lowest total (225.5) of the evening points to, defenses will be dominant here.
Philadelphia and Brooklyn are fourth and eighth in defensive rating.
Pacific Northwest Hosts in For Tough Games?
Moving over to the Pacific time zone, Golden State Warriors (-3.5), Portland (-3.5), and Sacramento (-3) are all slight favorites. Golden State takes on its budding rival, Memphis Grizzlies in what should be a fast-paced affair. At 245 points, this is the highest total for the night. The Warriors have won five straight at home versus the Grizzlies but Memphis has covered eight of its last dozen against GS.
Portland is arguably the shakiest favorite in NBA Wednesday’s games and odds. The Portland Trail Blazers are just 3-8 ATS in its last 11 games. They take on the Jazz, who are 12-6- ATS as a road underdog this NBA season.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings, the second-best team on the spread (57.8 percent cover rate) look to snap its five-game losing skid when playing the Raptors at home. The total (237.5) has gone over in six of their last seven meetings.
The New Orleans Pelicans (-2.5) also host the Timberwolves as they get no time to recuperate following a one-point loss to Denver last night. These Western teams are both undermanned with New Orleans playing without superstar forward Zion Williamson (hamstring).
The Wolves are still without franchise big Karl-Anthony Towns (calf). All-stars Brandon Ingram (toe) and Rudy Gobert (groin) could return for New Orleans and Minnesota Timberwolves, respectively.
And Then, The Underdogs
Houston (+3) and Oklahoma City (+1.5) tip off as the only two underdog hosts per this NBA Wednesday’s games and odds. The Houston Rockets snapped a 13-game losing skid in a win over Minnesota. Washington upset Dallas last night and Houston is 4-6-1 ATS when playing a team they have a “rest advantage” over. Houston loses lead guard Kevin Porter Jr. (foot) and potentially 2022’s third-overall pick Jabari Smith (ankle).
As for the Thunder, OKC opened as a one-point favorite over the Atlanta Hawks. The money went the other way despite these teams’ recent records. Atlanta is just 3-6 ATS in its last nine games versus the Thunder. Oklahoma City has managed a tough NBA games schedule to come out as another profitable team on the spread: 65.2 percent cover rate, which leads the league.
