Nuggets vs Heat Player Props: Which Supporting Cast Steps Up in Game 4?
All-Important Game Hinges on Certain Role Players

Who Follows Christian Braun’s Example For Game 4?
Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray became the first duo to have 30-point triple-doubles in the NBA Finals. But the lesser-known Christian Braun also played a pivotal role, scoring 11 of his 15 points in the second half to win Game 3. He’s not the only role player that can shine, as a few others could go beyond their Nuggets vs Heat player props for Game 4.

A Third “Star” After Jokic and Murray
With how Jokic and Murray are playing (Jokic to post a triple-double is at 50/50 odds (-115)), Denver does not need that much from its supporting cast. They can play defense and score every once in a while. But to push Denver past Miami, it would help if Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Michael Porter Jr. shot better.
Caldwell-Pope (KCP) is averaging just 6.3 points on 31.3% shooting. He’s made just two of his nine 3-point shots. Porter Jr. (MPJ) is even worse as he’s shooting just 25.8% and missed all but three of his 19 3-pointers. Denver labors to put Miami away because of the 3-point discrepancy.
That’s why the Nuggets vs Heat player props only have KCP’s 3-point makes at 1.5, and folks have steamed the ‘under’ at -150. On the flip side, bettors are still bullish on MPJ as his line sits at -175 to make over 1.5 3s.
Caldwell-Pope is also expected to not contribute much by counting stats at just 11.5 (total points, rebounds, and assists), while Porter Jr.’s is at 17.5, which is significantly decreased from 23.5 for Game 3. Now, bettors expect KCP to continue producing that while many are betting MPJ to go above.
For both the bettors’ and Denver’s sake, the duo can go over their NBA odds. If either can become the “third star” to Jokic and Murray, Denver may just blow out Miami.
Now or Never To Defend the “Heat Culture”
On Miami’s side, it’s time for some role players to step up. The Heat have always proven to be better than the sum of its parts. So if Jimmy Butler is not “Himmy Butler”, the likes of Max Strus, Gabe Vincent, and Kyle Lowry will need to carry a heavier load.
The trio scored just 19 points as Vincent and Strus shot a combined 3-of-17 from the floor. Caldwell-Pope and Denver’s D locked them down.
The Nuggets vs Heat player props have Vincent averaging 12.5 points for Game 4, while Strus and Lowry are listed at 8.5 points. Thus far, bettors like Vincent to score more than that (-125) while they are betting Lowry to score fewer (-125). The action on Strus is at a stand-still as he is as streaky as possible.
One of the three could have a big game. Maybe Strus gets hot and scores in double figures as in Game 2. He’s favored to hit more than 1.5 3s (-170) for Game 4.
Or Vincent can shoot more efficiently or be more of a playmaker. Bettors are fading his chance to hand out hit more than 3.5 threes (+140). Miami is 8-4 when he has at least four assists and 6-2 when he has at least five.
Or maybe Lowry channels his 2019 form even for just a half. Lowry to post over 15.5 points, rebounds, and assists (combined) could be a shrewd bet as the former Raptor will show up in crunch time.
With Tyler Herro still on the NBA injuries list, Erik Spoelstra needs at least two of these three key players to be a catalyst on Friday night.
