Storm Won Round One
The last time these two teams battled it was an early season classic. The Seattle Storm barely pulled off the win, 85-83. These teams shot about the same from the field, and three-point land in the game. One of the few differentiators in the game was that the Fever committed 13 turnovers, and the Storm only committed nine. The more veteran Storm were able to use that slight difference to capitalize and take advantage of the win.
The Storm was led by a huge night from Jewel Loyd. Loyd put up 24 shots and connected on half of them. She dropped a line of 32 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists. Nneka Ogwumike also had a great performance in the clutch win, scoring 22 points on 10-of-15 shooting, and snatching nine rebounds. Ezi Magbegor added nine rebounds herself and chipped in 14 points.
The Fever were led by rookie sensation Caitlin Clark, who had a team-high 21 points in the close loss. Clark struggled from the field shooting 6-of-16. She made the most of her attempts at the free throw line, going 7-of-9. Caitlin had seven assists and seven rebounds in the game. She also added two blocks to her stat sheet, showing her abilities on both ends of the floor.
Nalyssa Smith also had a solid night for the Fever, scoring 16 points on 8-of-13 shooting. She chipped in 11 rebounds as well and created three turnovers on the defensive end with two steals and one block. Temi Fagbenle contributed off the bench, with eight points, six rebounds, and three blocks. Fagbenle is out for this game, and indefinitely, so the Fever will need to replace her contributions on Thursday.

Can Fever Dream to Redeem?
Storm vs Fever betting odds are the Seattle Storm -4 (Indiana Fever +4) with the Storm being -170 favorites to win straight up and the Fever +145 underdogs. The total is set at 167.5. These WNBA lines are pretty well set in our opinion. The Fever are getting a bump playing at home and having put together a few solid performances over the last week. The Storm however are much more experienced, and with a clean injury report looks like they will be primed to enter Indiana playing their best.
Last season, these teams clashed on three occasions, each contest showcasing its dynamics. In the initial encounter, the Fever secured an 80-68 victory, surpassing expectations by covering the +3 spread, with the total score falling short of the 164.5-point mark.
The following matchup saw the Storm dominate with an 85-62 triumph, comfortably covering the +4 spread, and again, the total points scored remained below the predicted 162.5. Their showdown proved to be a nail-biter, as the Fever narrowly clinched a 90-86 win, resulting in a push for the spread, while the combined score surpassed the anticipated 160-point threshold.
