Reese Riding High

Chicago Sky’s rookie forward Angel Reese keeps rewriting the WNBA record books. Her 12 points and 19 rebounds against the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday extended her record streak of consecutive double-doubles to an incredible 11 games.

This dominant performance came just two days after she broke the previous record of nine, held by legend Candace Parker, with a 10-point and 17-rebound effort. Reese is averaging a league-leading 11.4 rebounds per game to go along with her 13.3 points and is proving to be a force on both ends of the court.

This stellar rookie season has positioned Reese as a serious contender for the Rookie of the Year award. Her main competition comes from the Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark, the number one overall pick. While Clark boasts a higher scoring average and impressive assist numbers, Reese’s rebounding dominance and all-around game can’t be overlooked.

  • The race for Rookie of the Year is heating up, and Reese’s record-breaking streak has certainly put her in the conversation. Caitlin Clark is still the heavy favorite to win the award at -600, but Reese has climbed to +370, the shortest odds she’s had for many weeks.

Storm Clicking

The Storm have won four straight games, and are coming off a big win against the Dallas Wings on Tuesday, 95-71. The Storm were close to even after the first quarter, but put together an eight-point advantage by halftime. They came out in the third quarter and outscored the Wings 34-13 and never looked back.

Jewell Loyd led the team with a big scoring night of 26 points, but got help up and down the roster. At least eight players on the Storm scored at least seven points in the game. Magbegor had 12 points and seven rebounds and Goqumike had 14 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Magbegor is a player to look at for a possible prop bet in this game. Although she is averaging 8.8 rebounds per game, she has been trending under her rebounding line of late.

She has gone under her line of 8.5 rebounds in all three of the Storm’s last three games, and they’ve won anyways. She will have her hands full with Angel Reese down low on Friday, and could be headed towards another under.

Betting Trends

The Sky vs Storm betting lines think the Storm will come out and whoop on the less talented Chicago Sky. We can’t disagree. The Storm beat the Sky by nine on the road earlier this season in a game that went under the 164.5 total line.

The Storm are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games, and the total has gone under in four of their last six. The Sky are 2-7 against the spread in their last nine games, and the total has gone over in seven of their last nine games.
