We are going to take a look at these teams’ last games, and the WNBA scores and see if we can make some Sun vs Liberty predictions.

First Two Matchups

These teams have already played twice this season, both times the Liberty were two-point favorites on the road, and in both games, they covered the spread. In their first meeting, the Liberty won 82-75, the total going over the 154.5 line.

The Sun had a solid game, getting double-digit scoring performances from everyone on their roster who played at least six minutes.

Alyssa Thomas also had a double-double with 12 rebounds and 10 points. It still wasn’t enough to stop huge scoring nights from Ionescu and Jones who scored 24 and 22 points respectively.

Stewart also had a solid game with 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

In their second matchup, the Sun put up an even better fight, but again, it wasn’t enough. They lost the game 68-71, going under the total which had been set at 159.

Bonner had a big night with 22 points and nine rebounds and Bionna Jones had 17 points and eight rebounds.

For the Liberty, Stewart had a monster double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Ionescu had a great all-around performance with 21 points, five rebounds, and five assists.

• The Liberty came out hot in the first quarter going up 29-19, but the Sun came back with a strong second, going into halftime down one 38-39.

The third quarter was the only differentiator, where the Liberty outscored the Sun by four points, pushing them just enough ahead to grab another victory.

Connecticut vs New York Liberty Betting Trends

These are two of the best teams in the WNBA, but neither have been excellent at covering the spread so far this season.

The Liberty are just 11-14 against the spread (ATS), and a measly 3-10 ATS at home. They have gone 4-1 ATS in their last five games, and the under has hit in five of their last six games.

The Liberty are 9-1 straight up at home in their last ten home games.

The Sun started the season blazing hot, but are only 3-7 ATS in their last ten games. They are 10-13 ATS on the season, but 5-5 in away games. They have also been trending under lately, going under in four of their last six games on the road.

Recipe for the Stew

Our Sun vs Liberty predictions depend a lot on the status of Breanna Stewart in this game. Stewart is currently listed as questionable, and whether the star forward plays or not will greatly affect our WNBA picks.

Stewart is not only a huge part of the Liberty’s defensive identity as well. The -4.5 spread makes us think that oddsmakers think she will end up suiting up Tuesday, and if that is the case, take the Liberty to cover at home.

If not, the Sun could keep this one close. The Liberty’s moneyline still feels like a safe bet either way, but the odds aren’t super favorable.
