Take Celtics To Cruise To Another Win vs Hawks

NBA-Best Boston Looking For 10th Straight Victory

The Boston Celtics are considered among the favorites to reach the NBA Finals this season, and with good reason. They head into a Monday night clash with the Atlanta Hawks with the NBA’s best record and a nine-game winning streak.

The Celtics vs Hawks odds favor the visitors by 11.5 points, and we are confident the Eastern Conference leaders will cover that number.

Not that Atlanta Hawks doesn’t have something to play for. The Hawks are currently 10th in the Eastern Conference, right on the edge of the play-in tournament, but they’d like to climb up the standings to possibly get a home game in that.

Still, the Hawks haven’t beaten the Celtics in two tries this season, and we don’t see them getting it done in this one, either.

Celtics Heavy Favorites Against Almost Everyone

The Boston Celtics are the odds-on favorites to make it to the NBA Finals and win this season, which means they are the favorites in almost every regular-season game they play.

The Celtics vs Hawks odds show that, with Boston a double-digit favorite on the road despite missing starting guard Jrue Holiday, who has been ruled out of Monday’s game with a shoulder injury.

Boston has possibly the most dynamic 1-2 punch in the league in forward Jayson Tatum (27.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists) and guard Jaylen Brown (23.4 points, 5.6 rebounds). Brown has been on a scoring tear of late, averaging 30.5 points over his last four games.

Look for both NBA players to at least reach their averages against a Hawks team that is one of the worst defensively in the league, ranking 27th in points allowed at 120.7 per game.

Hawks All Offense, No D

As stated above, Atlanta is not a good defensive team, so it tries to simply outscore opponents by pushing the ball and bombing away from 3-point range. The Hawks are fifth in the league in scoring at 119.2 points per game while shooting seventh-most 3-pointers per game at 37.6.

The problem for Atlanta in this one is Boston ranks above it in both of those categories.

With leading scorer Trae Young (26.4 points, 10.8 assists) sidelined with a finger injury, guard Dejounte Murray has had to take the lead role.

He had 28 points, 12 assists, seven rebounds, and four steals in the Hawks’ 41-point win over Charlotte on Saturday night, but he’ll find it a little more difficult against the Celtics.

Expect A High-Scoring Affair

The Celtics are one of the better defensive NBA teams in the league, but this should be a shootout, with Boston holding more firepower. Boston is a more precise team on both ends of the floor and is looking to continue to build its lead over NBA Eastern records as the postseason approaches, so it won’t be taking the Hawks lightly.

Even with Young in the lineup, Atlanta would have trouble staying in this one for very long. Without him, expect this one to get ugly real quick. Take the Celtics while giving the 11.5 points, and add a bet on the over as well, as this will be one of the higher NBA scores today.
