They have now won two games in a row, one narrow victory over Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, and a blowout of the winless Washington Mystics.

The Sky’s last two games were against some of the toughest competition in the WNBA. They had a surprising win (they were +16.5 underdogs) against the New York Liberty and a close loss to the undefeated Connecticut Sun.

Drama in Sky Town

The Sky’s last game was full of drama and intrigue. The Sky lost a close battle with the undefeated Connecticut Sun 86-82. DeWanna Bonner led the way for the Sun, scoring 19 points in the win.

Alyssa Thomas was ejected after throwing Chicago’s Angel Reese down by the neck.

Thomas’s ejection came in the third quarter when she grabbed Reese’s neck fighting for a rebound and threw her to the ground. After making both foul shots, the Sky had a 60-59 lead.

The game continued to go back and forth throughout the third and fourth quarters, with the Sky having a 79-78 lead with five minutes left in the game.

Unfortunately, the Sky weren’t able to defend against a final run from the Sun, ultimately losing the game by four points. Marina Mabrey was the leading scorer for the Sky, putting in 23 points and going 4-of-7 from distance.

Angel Reese put in 13 points and five rebounds, and Chennedy Carter had a strong game off the bench, scoring 11 points but committing six fouls in only 15 minutes of play.

The Sky will look to take the energy from a physical game, where they almost handed the Sun their first loss of the season, to their matchup with the Storm.

Seattle Stuck in the Middle

The Storm are stuck at .500, and with their early season expectations, are playing below expectations. They currently are still the fourth on the favorites list to win the WNBA championship at +2000 but are sitting at second to last place in the Western Conference.

In their last game, the Storm destroyed the Washington Mystics 101-69. Nneka Ogwumike and Jewell Loyd chipped in 19 points and 18 points respectively to lead the Storm to the win.

They also got contributions from the rest of their squad, having three other players score in double digits. Ezi Magbegor and Skylar Diggins-Smith both put in 16 points in the win.

The game was never much in question. The Storm’s defense put together an amazing stretch in the first half, holding the Mystics scoreless for four minutes, and grabbing a double-digit lead.

Although the halftime score was only 50-43; after midway through the third quarter, the Storm took a double-digit lead that they never let go of.

The Storm’s signing of stars like Nneka Ogwumike and Skylar Diggins-Smith is starting to pan out.

After a slower start to the season, the pair is getting the hang of playing together and playing with their new team. We expect these two to continue to trend positively as the season progresses.

Storm vs Sky Matchup History

Let’s look at these teams’ history to make Storm vs Sky predictions. These teams played each other four times last season, with Chicago winning three of the four matchups. Chicago also covered the spread in three of the four games. The score went over the total in three of the four games as well.

In this game, the Storm are -3.5 favorites on the road in Chicago. The total is set at 163.5. The Sky are +135 underdogs to win the game straight up, and the Storm are the -160 favorites.

The Storm are 3-3 against the spread so far this season and the Sky are 3-1. Getting 3.5 points on the road is certainly intriguing when looking at the Sky spread, but the Storm are playing well of late and look dangerous.

A better bet may be the over. The Storm have gone over in ten of their last 15 games, and the Sky have gone over in six of their last nine.
