SEC Basketball Betting Odds: Alabama Favored at Arkansas
Missouri at Florida, Key Saturday Game

The SEC basketball betting odds are showing three close contests on Wednesday, followed by several more on Saturday. There will be quite a few games where the NCAAB odds have one team favored by just a couple of points. But Alabama at Arkansas is going to be a tough game to beat in terms of solid play and excitement.
Wednesday, Jan. 11
No. 4 Alabama (13-2) visits No. 15 Arkansas (12-3) in one of the better games of the week. Alabama is favored by 1 and the total is 148.5.
The Crimson Tide get a slight edge on offense, while the two defenses are pretty even. This game is going to come down to how well Arkansas can shoot 2-pointers against Alabama’s defense.
The Razorbacks aren’t very good from 3-point range and score 55% of their points from 2-point range. But Alabama is No. 7 in the country defending the 2-pointer. Whichever team wins that battle is going to win this game.
The SEC basketball betting odds have Missouri favored by 1 with a total of 158.5 in this one that features two teams who are much better offensively than they are defensively.
That’s indicated in the total. Missouri plays at a pretty fast pace while the Aggies are a little bit more deliberate. Texas A&M still plays at a quicker pace than average but they will try to avoid a track meet with the Tigers.
Both teams force turnovers and unless they lead to some fast-break points, it might be a struggle for this one to hit the total.
Mississippi State is favored by 1.5 with a total of 124.5 in the ‘Battle of the Bulldogs.’ MSU’s defense will be the key here, as the team doesn’t shoot very well.
Georgia isn’t exactly a great offensive team in their own right but it’s hard to go under such a low number. Georgia can hit the 3-pointer, where MSU is a little weaker defensively.
If Georgia is forced to foul at the end of the game, it will do so knowing MSU is one of the worst foul shooting teams in the country at 62%.
Saturday, Jan. 14
The Kentucky Wildcats visit Tennessee and the SEC basketball betting odds are going to have Tennessee close to double digits in this one.
Kentucky is a little better than the Volunteers offensively but the Tennessee defense is the best in the nation. Tennessee ranks No. 1 in adjusted defensive efficiency and is No. 1 defending the 3-pointer and No. 9 against the 2-pointer. The Vols are also beasts on the offensive glass, ranking No. 1 in offensive rebounds.
The Wildcats will look tempting getting a lot of points but if the spread is Tennessee -10.5 or less, the Vols are probably the way to go in this one.
The Missouri Tigers bring their high-powered offense to Gainesville to face the Gators and Florida’s solid defense. The Gators should be favored by a couple here and could very well be the right side to be on.
Missouri’s offense has carried the team to a strong start while the Gators have suffered some losses and are down a bit in the NCAAB standings. But Florida wasn’t expected to be strong at the start of the season due to a number of new players.
The Gators have put together a couple of nice wins and have a few days off to get ready for this one. Missouri does have a rematch with Arkansas up next and could be looking ahead to that revenge game a little bit.
Mississippi State faces a team that is similar to them, but the Tigers do shoot the ball a bit better. Both teams are ranked in the top 15 in adjusted defensive efficiency but Auburn is No. 58 on defense.
The Bulldogs are No. 136. Mississippi State is going to have to score a little bit to get the road win here but it’s not going to be easy. The Bulldogs struggle to score against average defenses and now they’re facing one of the top ones in the country.
‘Mississippi State is solid grabbing offensive rebounds and the Tigers give up too many second chances.’
Getting off more shots than the Tigers is about the only way MSU can win this game. Auburn will be favored by about 6 points and the total will be in the 123.5 range.
