Will UConn Finally Earn Road Win Over Ranked Opponent?
There's Only One Bet to Make In Our Connecticut vs Creighton Preview

The UConn Huskies will hit the road to take on a ranked Big East foe in Creighton.
The Huskies are currently the best college basketball team in the nation, ranked No. 1 in the AP Poll with a 24-2 record. They’re also ranked No. 2 in KenPom and haven’t lost a game since December 20. UConn is literally coming off an 81-53 home win against No. 4 ranked Marquette.
They’re now 14-1 in conference play and are currently on a 14-game winning streak. But they’ll have a challenging task going up against Creighton on the road.
Creighton lost to UConn earlier this year, 62-48. But since that loss, the Creighton Bluejays have won six of their last eight games, including wins over Seton Hall, Xavier (twice), and Butler. The two losses were by one point to Butler at home and in an overtime game against Providence.
Therefore, UConn is only a 2.5-point favorite on the road, with the total currently at 144.5. However, the Over is juiced to -120 at this time.
Can Creighton pull off a monumental upset on its home floor? Here’s our Connecticut vs Creighton preview for this insane Big East matchup.

Connecticut vs Creighton Preview
UConn backers have been pleased this NCAAB season. Not only are the Huskies 24-2 on the year, but they’ve also gone 16-10 against the spread. It’s been a profitable season all around for UConn.
Meanwhile, the Over has hit in 13 of 26 games, however, one game was pushed earlier in the year. The Huskies are 6-2 on the road this season and 14-0 at home. The Huskies will be on the road in this one.
Creighton is currently 13-13 against the spread. The Bluejays have also hit the Under in 14 of 26 games this year. More importantly, Creighton is 11-2 at home. It’s very likely Creighton will sell out its stadium for this NCAAB matchup. It’ll be an exciting, loud, Big East matchup.
The Under in this game has hit in six consecutive games dating back to March 12, 2021.
UConn Hasn’t Won A Ranked Road Game Since 2014
The UConn Huskies were so good last year that they won the National Championship. They also won the National Championship in 2014. Something To Remember: Neither team added a defeat against another ranked team on the road those years.
The same has happened this season so far.
The Huskies haven’t beaten a ranked road opponent since 2014.
It’s never easy to win these types of games, especially in Big East atmospheres. But if UConn wants to stay at the No. 1 spot in the AP NCAA basketball rankings, it’ll need to win this game on the road against Creighton.
No matter the outcome, UConn is still one of the best teams in the nation and will compete for another National Title this season.
Consistency In Creighton
The Creighton Bluejays have won three straight games, with two road games against Xavier and Butler and a home win against Georgetown.
The Bluejays won their last two games by 22 points and moved up two slots in the AP Poll and one slot in the Coaches Poll.
With those wins, Creighton is also No. 13 in the NET and No. 23 in the KPI.
They will be a dangerous tournament team with solid offensive playmakers and an underrated defense. They’ll open some eyes with a win against UConn tonight.
We’ll see if they can make it happen. Many college basketball fans will have their eyes set on this game.
The Breakdown
The UConn Huskies have all the numbers and analytics to make another NCAA Title run. The Huskies have shot 36.7% from deep and 59.2% from inside the arc. That rate inside the arc is currently ranked fourth in the nation.
Creighton’s defense inside is also one of the best in the nation. The Creighton Bluejays have held opponents to 44.6% from two and 32.8% from three. But even better, the Bluejays rarely foul teams. They ranked No. 1 in the nation in FTA/FGA.
Don’t expect Creighton to force turnovers. But the Bluejays are among the few teams capable of keeping UConn off the offensive glass.
The Huskies have grabbed 37.4% of offensive rebounds. On the other hand, the Bluejays have allowed just 24.3% of offensive rebounds. UConn will get some second chances, but Creighton can certainly limit the Huskies from getting many second chances.
The Bluejays must focus on limiting rebounds because they don’t earn many turnovers.
Conversely, UConn has held teams to 31.5% from deep and 43.5% from inside the arc. The Huskies are just as good defensively inside the arc. However, Creighton has hit 60.8% from two this season, which is even better than UConn.
Creighton has also hit 36.1% from three, which is great.
UConn does foul at a high rate. It’s rare for Creighton to pick up fouls at a high rate, too. The Bluejays have also added only 25.9% of offensive rebounds. It’s unlikely the Bluejays will win the rebounding battle against UConn. The second chances won’t come around often. Plus, UConn usually earns more turnovers per game.
Both teams are good from the foul line. But with few fouls and a difficult time getting offensive rebounds, the Under 144.5 (+100) looks to be the way to go.
You can add the Under 144.5 (+100) into a college basketball parlay tonight. You can also bet on Creighton’s odds of winning March Madness before a potential upset over UConn. If Creighton wins this game, its odds will change quickly.
While we like Creighton to keep this game close, the better bet in our eyes is the Under in this Connecticut vs Creighton preview.
