2024 Cheat Sheet: Oregon Stats and Odds
Ducks Make Move to Big Ten Conference
The Oregon Ducks may have jumped to the Big Ten Conference, but the goal for the team is the same. Win the conference championship and get to the playoffs. That hasn’t always been easy for Oregon, but this team will be good. With Dillon Gabriel at quarterback, the 2024 Oregon Ducks stats should be just as impressive as those under first-round draft choice Bo Nix.

Oregon’s Offense Should be Potent
The Ducks are 22-5 over the past two seasons under coach Dan Lanning. The wins should continue this season even with some new faces on the schedule. Oregon should be able to score plenty of points once again.
Gabriel has a pair of All-American caliber wide receivers in Evan Stewart and Tez Johnson to throw to. Add running backs Jordan James and Noah Whittington into the mix and the ground game is solid. Oregon has three returning offensive linemen, so the Ducks are in good shape offensively.
It’s not quite as rosy on the defensive side of things. Oregon returns just four starters, although the team did attract some solid talent from the transfer portal. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see four or five of the transfers starting this season. If the 2024 Oregon Ducks stats on defense are as good as they were in 2023, it could be a big season for the team’s Big Ten Conference debut.
Championship Odds: Ducks Have the Pieces
There’s a reason why the NCAAF championship odds on the Ducks are just +750. This team has tons of talent and if Lanning can bring the team together, they’re a major contender.
Oregon was +3000 to win the national title last year. Gabriel is viewed a little better than Nix was entering the season, but if he can duplicate the numbers Nix put up, the Ducks coaching staff will be more than happy.
Conference Odds: Ducks Expected to Battle Buckeyes in Big Ten
The Ducks have the second-lowest conference odds in the Big Ten Conference. The matchup with Ohio State at home is going to be huge, but the Ducks also have to travel to Michigan.
The Wolverines will still be a tough team and winning at Michigan is no easy task. The Ducks have the potential to win the conference, although it’s not going to be easy. Oregon will need to stay fairly healthy during the season, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Ducks playing for the Big Ten championship in their first season.
Regular Season Wins: Oregon Hit With High Number
The Ducks were handed a 10.5 regular season win total, which means they can only lose one game. That makes a split with Ohio State and Michigan the worst they can do, but still have to win out the rest of the schedule.
Oregon’s win total last year was just 9.5 and the Ducks won 11 games. The schedule isn’t all that bad and Oregon has just five road games. The Ducks can win 11 games, but the high win total doesn’t leave any margin for error. Oregon may be a team you want to use in your weekly NCAAF picks and parlays instead.
To Make Playoffs: Ducks Should Get There
The expansion to a 12-team playoff field appears to have been made for a team like Oregon. There were several seasons where Oregon was probably the fifth- or sixth-best team in college football but was left out of the four-team field.
There shouldn’t be much doubt the Ducks are one of the 12 best college football teams this season and the 2024 Oregon Ducks stats should bear that out.
Side Bets
When a team is expected to be as good as the Ducks, there are plenty of other betting opportunities. The most obvious side bet is Gabriel being the early Heisman Trophy favorite.
The Oregon offense appears to be tailor made for Gabriel, but those who bet on college football realize that and have taken a lot of the value out of the wager. At +750 the odds aren’t bad, but you would like to see a little higher.
The Ducks are +340 to finish the regular season undefeated, which is possible, although that means pulling off a sweep of the Buckeyes and Wolverines. If you want to wager on the Ducks winning 10 games, you’ll be asked to lay -330. Oregon should reach double-digits in wins, but laying that steep of a number isn’t ideal when it comes to futures wagers.
