2024 NCAAF Cheat Sheet: Alabama Crimson Tide Stats & Odds
Look For More Big Numbers From Jalen Milroe in the 2024 Alabama Crimson Tide Stats
Other than seven-time national champion head coach Nick Saban retiring and several prominent players exiting via the transfer portal, it was a pretty uneventful offseason within the Alabama football program.
Kalen DeBoer, who just led the University of Washington to the national title game, replaces Saban at Alabama, and it remains to be seen if the 2024 Alabama Crimson Tide stats will include another trip to the College Football Playoffs.
Alabama was picked third behind Georgia and Texas in the SEC preseason poll. The Crimson Tide was fifth in the American Football Coaches Association preseason poll.
Offensive lineman Tyler Booker, linebacker Deontae Lawson, and defensive back Malachi Moore were all named to the first team in the preseason All-SEC team.
Alabama didn’t lose more than two games in each of Saban’s last 13 seasons with the Crimson Tide, so DeBoer has some mighty big shoes to fill.
When looking at the NCAA scores and odds, Alabama was tied for the SEC lead in 2023 by covering nine of its games.
Alabama trailed only SEC rival Georgia in the odds of winning the national title heading into the 2023 season and the odds were at +900 in early December. Now, there are four teams (two from the SEC) with shorter odds of winning the College Football Playoff championship.
Those who went with Alabama at +195 to make the college football playoffs were happy campers.
The NCAAF predictions listed Alabama with +140 odds to exceed 10.5 wins during the regular season. Now, the Crimson Tide have +110 odds to go over 9.5 wins.

With Jase McClellan now with the Atlanta Falcons and Roydell Williams transferring to Florida State, Jam Miller and Justice Haynes could be the running backs to watch.
The top three pass catchers are gone, so it remains to be seen who steps up to replace them.
Downs was Alabama’s leading tackler, but now he is at Ohio State while cornerback Terrion Arnold was a first-round pick by the Detroit Lions. Sack leader Dallas Turner was also a first-round selection.
The strength of the defense could be the linebacker tandem of Deontae Lawson and Jihaad Campbell.
[tie_index]Championship Odds: Alabama In The Mix[/tie_index>Championship Odds: Alabama In The Mix
If the College Football Playoff field didn’t expand from four to 12 teams, Alabama might be on the outside looking in this season. However, it won’t be a surprise to see Alabama in contention for a CFP spot.
A trip to Wisconsin could be the most challenging non-conference matchup before Alabama jumps right into conference play against Georgia. Buckle up for that game. Even a loss to Georgia and perhaps even a second loss in conference play shouldn’t keep Alabama out of the College Football Playoff field.

Conference Odds: Strange To See ‘Bama Outside the Top Two
Can SEC newcomer Texas live up to the hype and keep Alabama out of the SEC championship game? The betting odds have Georgia and Texas as the favorites to play for the SEC title.
Somehow the SEC schedule does not include a matchup between Alabama and Texas. That matchup would have generated plenty of buzz in the NCAAF free picks.
Alabama is listed as the underdog against Georgia and on the road against LSU on Nov. 9.
If they lose those two games, it is unlikely that Alabama will play for the SEC title. The Tennessee and Oklahoma games are on the road while the regular season ends against an Auburn team that is expected to be a much-improved unit.

Not only is the regular-season total being set at 9.5 for Alabama, the Crimson Tide has -140 odds to finish under that total.
Alabama hasn’t lost three games during the regular season since 2010 and the Crimson Tide offer good value at +110 to go over 9.5 wins. The non-conference games are against Western Kentucky, South Florida, Wisconsin, and Mercer.
Alabama is favored to win each of those games. If that happens, the Crimson Tide can take two losses in SEC play and still finish with 10 wins during the regular season.
Bet against the Crimson Tide at your own peril.
To Make Playoffs: Tide Could Be CFP Bound Again[/tie_index>To Make Playoffs: Tide Could Be CFP Bound Again
Since the College Football Playoffs debuted in 2010, no program has made more appearances or reached the championship game more frequently than Alabama.
There are some challenging games for the Crimson Tide to get through. Bear in mind that Alabama’s last three recruiting classes ranked second, first, and second nationally so there is still plenty of talent for DeBoer to work with.
Side Bets[/tie_index>Side Bets
Milroe is the top returning vote-getter in the 2023 Heisman Trophy balloting and the only active college player to receive more than one first-place vote in last year’s Heisman Trophy voting. He is tied for fourth at +1200 in the odds of winning the Heisman. He could put up more impressive numbers in the 2024 Alabama Crimson Tide stats.
Since the start of the 2016 season, Alabama has been the underdog in the regular season just twice so it will be interesting to see how the bets fall with Georgia and LSU both favored against the Crimson Tide.
