FAU vs USF Odds: FAU’s Passing Game to Grow Saturday
The Eagles Earned a Massive Come-From-Behind Win Last Weekend Against Virginia

The Boston College Eagles will look to get back to .500 with a road game against the Army Black Knights on Saturday.
The Eagles are coming off a thrilling victory over the Virginia Cavaliers to earn their first ACC win.
However, they’ll take a break from conference play on Saturday and travel to West Point, New York, to take on Army.
Last weekend, the Army had a bye week. So they’ve had more time to prepare for this matchup against Boston College. They’ll also be a bit more healthy.
But will a week off push the Army out of sync to begin this game?

Boston College is Back On Track
The Boston College Eagles have plenty of momentum heading into their bout against the Army Black Knights.
The Eagles earned a 27-24 win over Virginia last weekend, finishing the second half 20-3 against the Cavaliers.
The Eagles outgained Virginia 256-39 in that second half and earned their first FCS win and first ACC win this season.
The Eagles were resilient against Virginia. Apparently, they believe in one another, and it showed in that final half.
The Eagles made some adjustments and picked up the tempo on offense. That helped the Eagles settle in. Therefore, we’ll likely see more uptempo with the offense moving forward.
Thomas Castellanos threw for 183 yards but had two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also ran the ball 16 times for 78 yards, averaging 4.9 yards a carry. Boston College has a duel-threat quarterback and another great runner in Pat Garwo III. They’ve got to use those two to their advantage against Army.
Watch Out For the Army’s Defense!
The Army Black Knights have earned 379 yards per game offensively. However, the defense has held teams to 320 yards per game.
Teams have earned under 200 yards per game in the air and haven’t reached 130 yards on the ground. Army’s been terrific in coverage and has dominated against the run.
The defense is ultimately why the Army is sitting 2-2 in the college football standings.
The Black Knights are close to joining the American Athletic Conference. Right now, they’re just an independent team, playing whoever. But if the Army continues to play at a high level, especially defensively, the American Athletic Conference will be thrilled to add a school like the Army to its conference.
Take a look at the Boston College vs Army odds for this matchup below.
Boston College vs Army Odds
The Army Black Nights are -4 favorites against Boston College at home. Meanwhile, the total is currently sitting at 52.5.
Boston College is just 1-4 against the spread to begin the year. The Eagles have been favorites in three of five games but are just 2-3. Even the win against Virginia wasn’t good enough, as the Eagles were six-point favorites and only won by three.
However, the Eagles have seen all five games go Over the total. Every game has been around the 50-point range. The Eagles are scoring at a solid pace but also allowing points at a high pace.
Dating back to last season, the Over has hit in nine of Boston College’s last ten games.
Meanwhile, the Army has gone 2-1-1 against the spread to begin the season. They lost to Louisiana Monroe, 17-13, as 8.5-point favorites to start the season. However, the Black Knights covered the next two with massive wins over Delaware State and UTSA.
Finally, as underdogs a couple of weeks ago, Army pushed a 13-point spread, losing to Syracuse, 29-16.
The Over has hit in two of the Black Knights’ first four games this season.
Army Throws Now!
The Army offense had never been known for throwing the football very often. But the Black Knights have averaged 169.5 yards per game in the air through the first four games this season.
The Black Knights have still done more damage on the ground, rushing for 209.5 yards per game.
It’s been the Bryson Daily Show. He’s thrown for 592 yards with five touchdowns and four interceptions. However, he’s also led the team in rushing, with 76 carries for 275 yards and three more touchdowns.
The passing game still isn’t good. By Army is running it well. It just might not be easy against Boston College’s defense.
It’s hard for any team to prepare for an Army, Navy, or Air Force team. Those teams run triple-options and have different looks than your typical offense. But Boston College has been solid against the run. Sure, they’ve allowed 162.2 yards per game on the ground. But they’ve been better than that box score shows.
A couple of mistakes have hurt them, but overall, the run defense should be able to keep the Army below 200 yards rushing. That would be a win.
The Eagles also haven’t missed too many tackles to begin the year. What matters the most against the Army is wrapping them up and not allowing broken tackles for more significant gains. Boston College is above average in the tackling department.
Don’t Sleep on Boston College’s Run Game
The Boston College Eagles aren’t one of the top college football teams this season. But they’ve played against Florida State and almost earned a massive upset at home.
The Eagles can be competitive.
When you look at the NCAAF scores and odds, Boston College typically plays in high-scoring, tight games. That will likely be the case in this game.
Boston College has earned nearly 400 yards of offense. Thomas Castellanos will make some mistakes at quarterback. But he’s also good enough to help push Boston College to an upset or come-from-behind win. He’s got that kind of ability and talent.
The Army’s been dominant against the run and is excellent in coverage. However, the pass rush hasn’t been very good. If Castellanos has time in the pocket to make better decisions, the Eagles should also succeed offensively in this game.
The Over continues to hit in Boston College games. We don’t see why it wouldn’t hit in this one. Back the Over 52.5 in this early Saturday matchup.
