Conference USA Final: UTSA vs North Texas Odds Preview
Mean Green Covered 11 of Last 13 Conference Games.

We start this week’s look at the College Football betting lines in San Antonio for the Conference USA Championship game. The Roadrunners have found their way into the latest top 25 NCAAF rankings (23), after their week 13, 34-31 win against the UTEP Miners. North Texas slid by the Rice Owls as a more than two-touchdown favorite, 21-17. The Mean Green have failed to cover their last two games.
Game Information
North Texas Mean Green (7-5) vs. UTSA Roadrunners (10-2)

Mean Green Leaning on Balanced Offense
To say that Ayo Adeyi, Oscar Adaway, and Ikaika Ragsdale are going off for the Green would be a massive understatement. With 300 rushing yards in the win over Florida Atlantic and 475 in the 47-27 win over Louisiana Tech, it’s clear that Grant McCasland’s team is adding a feared running game to its league’s top-ranked offense.
That’s bad news for the Roadrunners because if there is one weakness, it’s their run defense which gives up almost 5 yards per rush. North Texas has been a consistent wager this season with an overall 7-4 ATS mark, showing a profit on the road (4-2 ATS) as well as home (3-2). This season, North Texas is 3-1 ATS when receiving seven points or more, and 7-4 ATS over the last two seasons.
Perhaps the total is where our selection is coming from after the Mean Green and Roadrunners have cashed four straight unders in the Alamodome and 7 of their last 8 meetings overall. Let’s continue our UTSA vs. N. Texas odds preview by going deeper into the UTSA program.
Ranked Runners Eyeing Conference USA Title, First Bowl Win
The 23rd-ranking Roadrunners are favorites to win their second Conference USA title, which will go a long way toward securing another top-25 ranking. This season will be the last for UTSA in Conference USA as they’ll join the American Conference in 2023. Offense has always been the way to success for the Roadrunners with this season being no exception.
With the Mean Green’s defense still trying to match the success their offense has had, it seems as if the Runners will have their way with College Football’s 123rd-ranked defense. It seems this match-up features teams with weaknesses that will be exploited by the other team’s strengths. As we conclude our UTSA vs. Mean Green odds preview, it seems that this game is ripe for an easy winner.
Public Betting Has Nailed the Winner
There’s only one way to play this, and the betting public is all over it. The side has seen movement with bettors taking the 9 ½ points to open betting, since, this number has fallen to -8. As game time approaches, we anticipate more Mean Green money but don’t expect the number to go much lower.
Where there may be some division on the side when it’s all done, the pros and joes have made their feelings known on the total since the books put it up. It was surprising to us and the public that 66.5 was the send-out number. It hasn’t moved yet, but with 81% of the early money coming in on the over, you can bet we will see some upwards movement.
To end our UTSA vs North Texas odds preview our official position is on the over. This game should be entertaining if you like offense and should get well into the 70s.
