Florida State vs Pittsburgh Odds: Has Florida State Found Its Stride?
Seminoles Have Earned Four Straight Wins by Double-Digits
The Florida State Seminoles are currently 8-0 on the college football season. They’re not only leading the ACC, but they’d likely be in the College Football Playoff if the season ended today.
The Seminoles have had some rough patches this season. However, they’ve earned massive wins over Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Duke, and Wake Forest over the last month. They show no signs of slowing down before their road game against the Pittsburgh Panthers.
The Panthers are just 2-5 on the season. But although Pittsburgh added a massive victory over Louisville on October 21, the Panthers lost 58-7 to Notre Dame last weekend, setting them back right where they had been: in the back of the ACC.
The Seminoles are huge favorites at home against the Panthers. They’re sitting at -21.5, with Pittsburgh at +21.5. Meanwhile, the total for this game is sitting at 49.5.
Will Pittsburgh earn another shocking upset, or will Florida State escape with their 9th straight win and stay undefeated?

Florida State vs Pittsburgh Odds
The Florida State Seminoles are massive favorites against the Pittsburgh Panthers for obvious reasons. The Seminoles are undefeated on the season and 6-2 against the spread.
On the other hand, the Panthers are 2-6 straight up and 1-6-1 against the spread this year.
While Pittsburgh is 0-4 on the road, the Panthers have played better at home, going 2-2. Of course, Florida State is 3-0 on the road and hasn’t lost a game this season.
The Seminoles have covered each of their last three games as heavy favorites. They were 19-point favorites against Syracuse, 13.5-point favorites against Duke, and 21-point favorites against Wake Forest and earned a cover in all three of those games.
Meanwhile, the Over has hit in six of the first eight games for Florida State this year.
On the other hand, Pittsburgh’s been almost the opposite. They’ve lost their last two games against the spread and only have one weird cover against Louisville, where the Panthers won as seven-point underdogs.
Since that win, Pittsburgh is right back where they’ve been. The Panthers lost two straight games and covers to Wake Forest and Notre Dame. However, both of those games were on the road. They’ll be back home for this game against Florida State.
Like Florida State, Pittsburgh has hit the Over in six of eight games this season. The Over in last weekend’s game against Notre Dame was 46.5, and the Panthers allowed Notre Dame to score 58 points by themselves.
Florida State and Pittsburgh have played two games since 2013. Florida State won in 2013, but Pittsburgh added a 41-17 win against Pittsburgh in November 2020.
Both of those games went Over the total.

Does Florida State Have The Best Resume?
Before the Seminoles’ victory over Wake Forest, ESPN analyst and former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy stated that Florida State has the best resume in college football.
While they’re 8-0, the Seminoles have a win against LSU, and Duke has the only two wins against ranked NCAAF teams. That LSU win was special, but the Duke win isn’t looking as hot.
The Blue Devils are currently out of the Top 25 heading into Week 10.
McElroy said this before Duke’s loss to Louisville. However, there are plenty of teams in college football with better wins than Florida State. If Florida State played LSU again this weekend, the results would be much different. The game would be so much more competitive in the second half.
However, what matters for Florida State is for them to win out. That’s all they can control. If the Seminoles win out, they’ll be a top-four team in college football and have a chance to play for the College Football Championship in the Playoff.
Rankings and ratings are fun. But they don’t matter until after the final week of the season. Changes will happen every week.
Florida State is still one of the best teams in college football, no matter who they’ve played.
Postgame Callout Won’t Sit Well With Pittsburgh Players
The Pittsburgh Panthers most recently lost to Notre Dame, 58-7. It was one of the more embarrassing losses for Pittsburgh since Pat Narduzzi took over as head coach of the program.
While Narduzzi took responsibility for Saturday’s loss, he also spoke poorly of his players. After the game, he talked to the media.
“As a football coach, you lose a lot of good players from a year ago, and you think as a coach you’re going to replace them, and obviously we haven’t,” Narduzzi told reporters at Notre Dame Stadium. “Again, it starts with me. I didn’t do a good enough job coaching today. Put it on me, and we’ve got to make plays.”
So, while he said he starts with him, he still acknowledged that his NCAAF players weren’t up to par with his team from last season. As a head coach, you can’t say that type of thing. Players will turn against you fast, and you’ll likely get fired.
Narduzzi has a long history of success coaching football. But his time with Pittsburgh is likely starting to dwindle.
Narduzzi backtracked the statement on social media. But the damage might already be done.
Another Easy Game For Florida State
The Florida State Seminoles had their hiccups earlier in the season. But now they’ve hit their stride. Jordan Travis has thrown for 18 touchdowns and just two interceptions, while Trey Benson has rushed for seven touchdowns on 85 carries.
The offense is elite, and the defense is doing more than enough for this offense to win games.
Meanwhile, the Panthers have averaged 312.6 yards per game on offense, with only 208.4 yards in the air. Against Florida State’s secondary, the Panthers will struggle to click on all cylinders.
We’ve got plenty of college football picks. However, it’s not one with the college football spread. There’s value in the Florida State vs Pittsburgh odds with the Over 49.5.The Seminoles will still be near the top of the NCAA football standings after this game.
