MAC Week 12 Betting Odds: Ohio vs Ball State Highlights Week

Everybody’s favorite made-for-TV college football betting conference is back with another slate of Tuesday and Wednesday games. The MAC Week 12 betting odds show a couple of decent games, along with several teams expected to post big wins.

The college football standings show Ohio still leading the MAC Conference East Division with a 5-1 record. Bowling Green and Buffalo are right behind at 4-2. Toledo is leading the MAC West Division at 5-1. Ball State, Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan are each 5-3.

The most meaningful game on the MAC NCAAF schedule sees Ohio visiting Ball State. The Bobcats are favored by 4 and the total is 52.5. Ohio has won five straight games, so it’s no surprise the MAC Week 12 betting odds have the Bobcats as road favorites. It’s no secret that Ohio is going to come out and throw the ball.

The Bobcats are averaging 314.7 passing yards per game and now facing a Ball State defense allowing more than 400 total yards per game. Ball State is a little better defending the pass than the run, however.

This game could be settled by the Ball State rushing game. Ohio allows 4.4 yards per carry against teams that average just 4.1 yards per rush. With Ball State averaging 4.4 yards a carry against teams allowing 4.2, the Cardinals could have some success on the ground. They’ll need it, however, as Ball State averages just 5.8 yards per pass attempt, well below the 7.5 yards their foes allow on average.

Other Games to Watch

The MAC Week 12 betting odds have the Rockets as 15-point favorites, the second-highest conference spread this week. The total on the game is 50.5. Bowling Green is woefully inconsistent, with three wins as underdogs of 6 points or more, along with an 0-3 ATS record when favored.

The Falcons don’t have much of a rushing game, averaging just 3.2 yards per carry. The passing game is a little better but the strength of the Toledo defense is defending the pass. If the Rockets get up big and early, this one could be ugly.

The MAC Week 12 betting odds see Kent State favored by 7 over EMU, with the total at 61.5. Both teams are 3-3 in conference play but the game means more to Kent State, who is sitting at 4-6 overall. The Golden Flashes need wins in their last two games for bowl eligibility.

Kent State is 3-1 at home this season, but Eastern Michigan is 4-1 on the road. Something has to give and it will likely come down to Kent State’s ability to run the ball. The Golden Flashes average 210 yards on the ground and run 43.8 times per game. EMU allows 4.0 yards per rush.

The Eagles aren’t a great offensive team, averaging 345.5 total yards per game, but typically make the most of their opportunities, scoring a point for every 12.5 yards gained.

Central Michigan is favored by 10 and the Mac Week 12 betting odds show a total of 49.5. While this game isn’t going to have much of an impact on the standings, CMU is still battling for bowl eligibility. The Chippewas need to win their last two games for the sixth victory of the season.

Western Michigan hasn’t done much on offense this season, averaging 19.6 points per game. The Broncos don’t run or pass particularly well and their last four games have all landed under the total. Central Michigan is better offensively and there isn’t a huge difference in the two defenses, which are both a bit worse than average.
