Mountain West Conference: Boise State vs Fresno State Odds & Prediction

Bulldogs 6-15 ATS in Last 21 Meetings Against Broncos

This week’s College Football betting odds show the Eastern Conference champions as a small favorite against the Mountain West Western champion. NCAAF standings show that both teams won their side of the conference easily. With a three-game lead, the Broncos had their side won weeks ago, while it took the Bulldogs a little longer to clinch over the San Jose State Spartans who were two games back.

Bulldogs Seek Payback in Title Game

The only team to hand Fresno State a conference loss this season was the Boise State Broncos, so you won’t hear them talk about revenge, but you can bet its on the minds of the Bulldogs who took a 20-pt loss (40-20) in early October.

Fresno heads into this game after their most complete performance of the college football season, resulting in a 30-0 thrashing of the Wyoming Cowboys. The big story this week is whether Fresno will have the services of defensive end David Pereles.

Head Coach Jeff Tedford didn’t commit either way but if the Bulldog’s sack leader doesn’t play or is less than 100%, that just strengthens our position on the game. Fresno is just 5-6 ATS (-145 units) and 2-4 ATS (-221 units) on the road. The Bulldogs have been a tough team to figure out for bettors with a 19-20 ATS mark since 2019.

Because of that perhaps the total offers more of a clearer path after the Cowboys over-provided a 7-4 record, 22-18 since 2019. Let’s continue our Boise State vs Fresno State odds preview by diving into the Broncos.

Broncos in Fifth MWC Title Game

Broncos QB Taylen Green showed why he should be feared with his legs as well as his arm, after the freshman quarterback accounted for 311 yards of offense, with 91 of those yards coming on the ground.

The last time these two NCAAF teams met in October, it wasn’t about the final score, it was about how the Broncos easily handled the Bulldogs in the second half when they outscored Fresno 20-3.

That game ended in a 40-20 Broncos win that easily went over the posted total of 45. The oddsmakers bumped up this match-up to 54, with the difference being that the Bulldogs will have the services of quarterback Jake Haener and safety Evan Williams were at the top of a long list of injuries.

As we conclude our Boise State vs Fresno State odds preview, we feel the total offers an exceptional opportunity to cash an easy winner.

Public Pounding Bulldogs

There is still plenty of betting to be done, but so far the market is riding with Fresno State in a big way.

The send-out number was Boise State -5, but with 94% of the money coming in on Fresno, they were compelled to shave that down to -3.5. We’re not sure where such a strong opinion grew from, but the betting on the total is understandable.

After opening the total at 50.5, the pros bet that up to 54.5 with 88% of the tickets on the over.

Our official Boise State vs Fresno State odds preview selection is on the over as well. It’s important to get down on this wager now because books are more willing to move totals quicker than sides. The best number out there is 54 so don’t expect this total to drop much if at all.
