2024 Chris Olave Season Odds
Saints Star Wideout Should Stay Productive in Second Season With QB Carr

Despite the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ recent dominance, the NFC South is one of the most wide-open divisions in football.
The Bucs have won the division three straight years, the Atlanta Falcons are the favorites to win it in 2024 and the Carolina Panthers have nowhere to go but up. But the New Orleans Saints are right there as well, since they finished even with the Bucs atop the division, only falling short of the playoffs due to a tiebreaker.
- New Orleans led the South in points, a consequence of having a competent quarterback play with Derek Carr and arguably the division’s top wide receiver, Chris Olave.
Olave has surpassed the 1,000-yard plateau in each of his first two NFL seasons, despite being stuck with quarterbacks like Andy Dalton, Jameis Winston, and Derek Carr. But Olave and Carr will have a second season to improve on their rapport, which should make the combo even more deadly in 2024.
Here’s a look at the 2024 Chris Olave season odds.
2023 Olave Recap
Olave, who was picked 11th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, once again proved why he was worthy of that selection. Olave avoided the sophomore slump by once again leading the Saints in receptions (87) and yards (1,123), finishing 17th in the NFL in each stat category, and further establishing himself as one of the best receivers in football.
Olave averaged more than 70 yards per game and was Carr’s go-to guy early in the season despite his and New Orleans’ struggles to put up points in the first quarter of the season. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, especially those that place NFL prop bets, Olave has struggled to find the end zone in his young career, posting just nine touchdowns in 31 games.
Olave shared the team touchdowns lead (5) with Rashid Shaheed in 2023 mainly due to the fact Taysom Hill (4 rushing TDs) and Jimmy Graham (4 receiving TDs, 6 catches in 2023).
Graham won’t return in 2024, and Cedrick Wilson, signed from Dallas during free agency, should protect both Olave and Shaheed from heavy coverage. With Carr now boasting chemistry with his receivers in Year 2, there shouldn’t be an early-season learning curve, which means Olave should be in for another huge year.

Huge Expectations
With great and consistent numbers come high hopes, which is why the 2024 Chris Olave season odds are big numbers.
Olave’s Over/Under for receptions is 80.5 at -112 on each side, and his total for receiving yards is 1,050.5 with the same odds for each side. DraftKings has Olave’s O/U for yards at 1,025.5, with -125 odds for the Over, and his catches at 82.5 at -110.
Olave may have easily topped both marks in 2023 and should again this NFL season. But remaining healthy enough to surpass those numbers again will involve good luck as well.
With Graham out of the picture, and running back Alvin Kamara seemingly headed in the wrong direction, Olave’s Over/Under touchdowns prop is an NFL best bet to target for 2024.
Over 5.5 TDs is +105 at DraftKings, and Olave scoring at least seven TDs is +150 and 10+ touchdowns is +850.
If you’re eyeing a short-odds prop that seems likely to hit, try Olave to surpass 1,000 yards at -140 at DraftKings, since he’s done so in each of his first two NFL seasons. If you’re feeling daring and think the Olave-Carr connection is going to explode, try Olave over 1,250 yards at +250.
No Carr Troubles
Many perceived the Saints QB was washed up when they signed him to the four-year, $150 million contract after Carr was cut by the Raiders. But he had a resurgent season, completing 68.4% of his passes and throwing the most TDs (25) since the 2021 season while also cutting his interceptions down from 14 to 8 from 2022-23.
Those are not stellar numbers for an NFL quarterback these days, but if Carr continues to play conservatively within himself then the Saints will have adequate quarterback play, especially with weapons like Olave and Shaheed.
- Carr may be 33 as of March 28, but QBs seem to be upright longer than ever thanks to the ever-protective NFL rules. He also got hot down the stretch, throwing 15 TDs in New Orleans’ final six games as a consequence of growing more comfortable in the New Orleans offense.
2024 Chris Olave Season Odds can’t be great without great quarterback play, and if Carr is up to the task then he should have a great year.
NFC Dark Horse?
The Saints have all the makings of a team that can make some noise in the top-heavy NFC, even though they have to overcome the Falcons (-120 to win) and three-time defending champion Bucs.
Still, New Orleans was ninth in the NFL in points per game (23.6) and eighth in points-against per game (19.2) and has long had one of the best defenses in football.
If Olave and Carr can help the Saints ‘O’ match their ‘D’ then they could very easily finish atop the South (+340) and host a playoff game in January.
Saints coach Dennis Allen is on the hot seat since he has gone 16-18 in his first two seasons despite the club’s Pythagorean win/loss record sitting at 18.6-15.4 in that span. He’s likely to be coaching for his job.
- Thus, Saints Over 7.5 wins (-120) is a lock, and taking them to reach 10+ wins (+220) is intriguing with their NFC East/AFC West schedules offering favorable matchups in the Giants, Commanders, Broncos, and Raiders on the NFL games this week throughout the season.
