2024 NFL Cheat Sheet: Denver Broncos Stats & Odds
After Another Losing Season, What Will the 2024 Denver Broncos Stats Look Like This Season?
Will The Broncos Turn to Rookie QB Bo Nix?
So much for all the great things that were destined to happen with former Super Bowl-winning quarterback Russell Wilson teaming with former Super Bowl-winning coach Sean Payton. This is one time when the coach survived the tug of war against the star QB as Wilson is now in Pittsburgh and Payton has been entrusted with the task of making the Broncos relevant again.
When looking at the 2024 Denver Broncos stats, remember that Denver was just 3-5 outright as an underdog last season and had the same record on the road.
The Broncos were 3-5-1 against the spread as a favorite and covered in just three of eight games as the underdog so there is plenty of work to be done. The 2-5-1 ATS record on the road is another cause for concern.

Does Bo Know Playoffs In Denver?
Denver might have one of the more intriguing quarterback rooms in the NFL with first-round pick Bob Nix joined by Zach Wilson, who washed out with the New York Jets, and Jarrett Stidham, who quarterbacked the Broncos to one of its three division wins during the 2023 season.
“I don’t look at it as finding the balance, I look at it as finding the player.”

Led by Javonte Williams, the Broncos have plenty of options at the running back position and that could show up in the 2024 Denver Broncos stats, but the group of receivers is rather mediocre.
The bigger issues could be on the other side of the ball as only the Indianapolis Colts allowed more points last season among AFC teams than the Broncos.
The Broncos have had one winning season since winning the Super Bowl after the 2015 season. Denver had gone from 1973 to 2017 without posting back-to-back losing seasons.
Now they head into this season with seven straight losing seasons with the possibility of No. 8 staring the Broncos in the face.
Super Bowl Odds: 2015 Seems Like Such a Long Time Ago
How things have changed since the Broncos beat the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.
It is really hard to envision the Broncos being in contention for a playoff spot in the loaded AFC never mind making it back to the Super Bowl.
Denver only missed the playoffs by two games even though the Broncos were -56 in point differential. That is a number that needs to improve in the 2024 Denver Broncos stats.
None of the free agent signings were headline material and the roster needs an influx of talent compared to the AFC teams vying for playoff spots.
“Everybody’s itching to be on the field tomorrow, so it’s definitely just really exciting to be here.”

It would have been quite the scene had Denver gone into Seattle with Wilson still the starting quarterback. Now it is just another season-opening game.
The second game will come against Wilson and the Steelers so Empower Field at Mile High Stadium could be rather electric.
Conference Odds: Still Some Work to Do
When looking at the NFL team rankings, just how many AFC teams would swap their rosters for Denver’s? It would be a pretty small number.
The two-time defending champion Kansas City is joined by Baltimore, Cincinnati, Miami, Buffalo, and Houston, that doesn’t leave much room for the other AFC teams with playoff aspirations.
Perhaps the Broncos can pick up some wins early in the season with a pretty manageable first eight games but there needs to be major signs of improvement on defense and in the passing game for the Broncos to be a factor in the AFC.
Division Odds: Broncos Aim To Be Second Best
The Kansas City Chiefs have won eight consecutive AFC West Division titles after winning the 2023 division title by three games.
The race for the second spot in the AFC West could be more compelling with the Broncos fighting it out with the Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Chargers will be interesting to watch as Jim Harbaugh returns to the NFL after leading Michigan to the College Football Playoff title. The Raiders and Broncos finished tied for second in the AFC West last year but the Raiders had the edge with a 4-2 division record while Denver split its six AFC West games.
Denver doesn’t play its first division game until Week 5 when the Raiders come to town and that is followed a week later with a road matchup against the Chargers.
Regular Season Wins: Denver Needs to Be Ready to Rumble
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the only 2023 playoff team that the Broncos will face in the first eight games of the season. That game comes in Week 3 after the Broncos are underdogs against the Seahawks and the Steelers.
That is followed by games against the Jets, Raiders, Chargers, Saints, and Panthers. Can Denver find a way to go 4-4 through the first eight games?
Things will get much more challenging after that with back-to-back games against the Ravens and the Chiefs, the teams that met in the 2023 AFC Championship Game.
The final two games come against Cincinnati and Kansas City so the Broncos will need to have taken care of business heading into those two games.
It could be worth rolling with the Broncos to go over 5½ wins when looking at the NFL futures odds.
To Make Playoffs: Too Many Teams Ahead of the Broncos
Sean Payton hasn’t forgotten how to coach as he had some great seasons during his time with the New Orleans Saints. However, another losing season could result in whispers that it was quarterback Drew Brees and not Payton who was most responsible for that success.
It is a pretty reasonable schedule for the Broncos to navigate. While beating Kansas City is no easy task, the Broncos could give the other AFC West teams a run for their money.
This doesn’t look like a team capable of making a playoff run but could the Broncos be in the running at 9-8 to speak in the playoffs? That could certainly happen.
Side Bets
Rookie quarterback Bo Nix has -110 NFL betting odds to go either over or under 2850.5 passing yards with +110 odds to surpass 17.5 touchdown passes. Those numbers could shift once it is known whether Nix will be the starting quarterback for the Broncos.
Payton has +3000 odds to be the NFL Coach of the Year while defensive end Jonah Elliss is currently at +6000 in the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year odds. The best option might be Bo Nix at +1400 in the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds.
