Projected 2024 Indianapolis Colts Stats Are "Mid"
Most of the NFL world didn’t know what to expect from the Indianapolis Colts last season. The Colts drafted former Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson and made him the starter right out of the gate.
However, while Richardson had some success at Florida, he didn’t exactly prove that he was a winner at Florida. Some analysts believed he was a work in progress.
Others pointed to his inaccuracy at Florida and thought he wouldn’t last in the NFL.
However, there were still some believers. One was the Colts’ front office, which drafted Richardson. They loved his frame, ability to run the football, and character.
- But within four weeks, Richardson’s season was over due to a shoulder NFL injury. Gardner Minshew took over and helped the team get to 9-8 on the season. However, it wasn’t enough to make the playoffs.
With Richardson healthy, there’s optimism with the Colts heading into this season.

There’s Already Some Concern
The Indianapolis Colts were raving about second-year wide receiver Josh Downs in the slot. He produced well during training camp, and many expected him to have a big season.
However, in a 7-on-7 drill, Downs suffered a high-ankle sprain that could force him to miss a game or two in the regular season.
But forget the regular season games. He’ll also miss the quality time training and practicing to improve.
That said, Anthony Richardson and Jonathan Taylor are now back and healthy. That’s a scary duo of runners who can fatigue a defense.
But can those two carry the Colts into the NFL playoffs or, better yet, the Super Bowl?
Probably not.
You’re better off betting our NFL picks against the spread than the Colts to win the Super Bowl.
Super Bowl Odds: Hold Up!
It feels like Jonathan Taylor has been around forever. However, he’s only been in the league for four seasons and added 1,811 yards rushing in 2021. He’s capable of being a 2,000-yard back any given season.
The problem is that Taylor has only played 17 games once in a season. In two of the other three seasons, he’s played no more than 11 games. His health is a major concern and his backup is no longer Zack Moss. It’s Trey Sermon, who has shown nothing in this league since coming in.
- Additionally, the Colts will rely on Joe Flacco as Richardson’s backup. Let’s say Richardson gets hurt, and Flacco comes in. That would completely change the game plan.
Richardson and Flacco couldn’t be more unlike one another.
The Colts would need a perfect season to make the Super Bowl. Since opening, the line has already shifted to worse odds for the Colts. Don’t think about the NFL odds for the Colts to win the Super Bowl.

Conference Odds: Underdogs In Many Games
Some NFL teams get a lot of media attention and lots of hype. The Colts haven’t been that team. They’re kind of under the radar, and nobody talks about them.
The defense will rely on the defensive line. After all, that group earned 51 sacks last season, which was fifth-best in the NFL.
The Colts will be competitive throughout the season. Don’t expect them to beat the brakes off higher-tier AFC squads like the Texans, who are projected to be among the top NFL teams.
Division Odds: An Underrated AFC South?
The AFC South has many questions that haven’t been answered.
We haven’t seen a full season of Anthony Richardson under center with the Colts, and we haven’t seen a full year of Will Levis with the Titans.
Additionally, the Jaguars believe they’ve made some strides to compete in the division, especially after signing Trevor Lawrence to an extension.
Beyond that, the Texans decided to go all out with Stefon Diggs and Joe Mixon added to the depth chart. Stroud was terrific last year, but many of his weapons were injured and hurt in the previous year. The Texans could be phenomenal this season.
So it’s an underrated conference, but the ceiling is much higher for some of the other teams in the division when looking at the projected 2024 Indianapolis Colts stats.
Regular Season Wins: We Don’t See 8 Wins
The Colts don’t have an easy NFL schedule this year. Indianapolis has the Packers, Vikings, Giants, and Jets on the road.
They’ll also begin the year with road games against the Jaguars and Titans in the season’s first six games. By the time they get to the back end of the schedule, they’ll be out of the playoff race.
To Make Playoffs: Don’t Count On It
The Colts just needed a win against the Houston Texans at the end of the season. But they lost 23-19, despite having a chance on the 15-yard-line on 4th-and-1.
Colts Head Coach Shane Steichen called a questionable play that wasn’t executed. So, do we want to trust a coach who makes these poor decisions late in the game?
Most Regular Season Rushing Yards 2024-25
If Jonathan Taylor remains healthy this season, he can have the most rushing yards. He’s currently third on the odds board behind Derrick Henry and Christian McCaffrey.
McCaffrey is already injured with a strained calf, and Henry might not be used as much as others think. At +800 odds, Taylor has good value in this market. He’ll undoubtedly lead the 2024 Indianapolis Colts stats this season.
