2024 NFL Cheat Sheet: New England Patriots Stats & Odds
The 2024 New England Patriots Stats Find Wins Hard to Come By
Tom Brady Is Not Walking Through That Door For The Rebuilding Patriots
It was just three years ago that the New England Patriots made the playoffs after a 10-win season. When looking at the 2024 New England Patriots stats, one can only wonder when the Patriots will be returning to the NFL playoffs.
Bill Belichick retired after coaching the Patriots into eight Super Bowls with six titles.
- Jerod Mayo takes over with some rebuilding to do with the Patriots having one of the worst rosters in the NFL. New England was seventh in the NFL in total defense but just 30th in total offense.
New England was only 1-7 at home during the 2023 season, including an 0-3 record as a home favorite. Three of the four wins came as an underdog. New England was just 2-4 in the AFC East and that paid out at -125.
- Heading into the 2023 season, there were +750 odds for the Patriots to finish with four wins during the regular season.
New England covered in just five games last season and only the Carolina Panthers covered less frequently. The Patriots were 1-6-1 against the spread at home and 0-3 as a home favorite. All five of their games as the favorite landed under the total.

Is Drake Maye The Answer?
Five years have passed since future Hall of Famer Tom Brady threw his final pass as a member of the New England Patriots. After a solid start to his NFL career, Mac Jones fizzled out as the Patriots quarterback of the future.
New England selected North Carolina’s Drake Maye with the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
There have been rumblings that Maye hasn’t even been the best rookie quarterback in camp with the strong-armed Joe Milton also pushing for playing time.
- Defensive backs Adrian Phillips and JC Jackson, defensive lineman Lawrence Guy, and receiver DeVante Parker have all been released. Offensive lineman Chukwuma OKorafor and quarterback Jacoby Brissett might be the most prominent of the offseason signings.

There have been NFL rumors flying around about teams trying to trade for edge rusher Matthew Judon. Keep that in mind when looking at the 2024 New England Patriots stats.
Second-leading rusher Rhamondre Stevenson might have topped 1000 yards had he played in all 17 games while Demario Douglas, Hunter Henry, and Kendrick Bourne are the top returning pass catchers.
Ja’Whaun Bentley, Jahlani Tavai, and Kyle Dugger are among the top returning defensive NFL players. Questions surround star defensive tackle Christian Barmore as his status is unknown as a result of a blood clot issue. Keep an eye on second-year cornerback Christian Gonzalez as he was enjoying a strong rookie season only to be limited to four games.
Super Bowl Odds: Patriots Aren’t Super This Year
There was a time not too long ago when the Patriots figured prominently in the Super Bowl odds. However, the Patriots are one of the longest of long shots to win the Super Bowl.
The Patriots had the worst NFL record in the AFC last season. It has been nearly 30 years since New England had four losing records in a span of five seasons. It seems more likely that will be the result once the 2024 NFL season is over rather than a trip to the Super Bowl.
Conference Odds: Lots of Work to Do
The Patriots are tied with the Denver Broncos for the longest odds of representing the AFC in the Super Bowl and it has been a while since that is the case when looking at past Patriots Super Bowl wins.
- Perhaps New England can avoid having the worst record in the AFC but playing three of the first five games against the San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins, and Houston Texans could impact the 2024 New England Patriots stats.
Two of the final three games come against the Buffalo Bills so the Patriots must pick up wins earlier in the season.
Division Odds: Can The Patriots Avoid the AFC East Cellar?
There was a 19-year stretch when the Patriots won the AFC East 17 times and finished second in the other two seasons.
In a division with Super Bowl contenders Miami, Buffalo, and the New York Jets are expected to be an improved team with the return of a healthy Aaron Rodgers at quarterback.
It is hard to imagine New England finishing ahead of any of those teams so New England could finish last in the AFC East for a consecutive season.
Regular Season Wins: The Patriots May Exceed The Low Expectations
After finishing well short of the expected regular-season win total of 7.5 wins in 2023, the Patriots are currently at 4.5 in the RSW options.
- When trying to project the 2024 New England Patriots stats, remember that there are games against Seattle, Tennessee, Chicago, Arizona, and the Los Angeles Chargers that could give the Patriots hope for victories. New England found a way to win a pair of AFC East games in 2023 so there is a chance that New England could go over 4.5 wins.
To Make Playoffs: Not This Year
The Kansas City Chiefs look to become the first team to win three consecutive Super Bowls. The Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texas, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cleveland Browns are among the other AFC teams expected to jockey for the AFC playoff spots.
New England is probably another couple of strong NFL drafts away from being able to make noise in the star-studded AFC.
Patriots Side Bets
The lack of star power on this New England Patriots team is alarming and imagine what happens if the Patriots opt to trade Matthew Judon. Don’t expect much in the NFL player stats from the Patriots.
Mayo could be a tempting option at +2200 in the NFL Coach of the Year odds. Jacoby Brissett (+6000), Judon (+8000), and Christian Gonzalez (+8000) are showing up in the NFL Comeback Player of the Year odds.
Drake Maye is tied for fourth at +1400 to be the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. The National Football League MVP odds don’t feature many options from the Patriots.
