2024 NFL Cheat Sheet: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Stats & Odds
Can Buccaneers Repeat Last Year’s Surprise Success?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming into their 2024 season looking to prove the doubters wrong once again.
Their 2023 campaign surprised many, so their 2024 Tampa Bay Buccaneers stats could be solid. Since Tom Brady left, the expectations on this team have been low, and they have continued to exceed them in his absence.
The Bucs have gone over their win total in four of their last five seasons, and the NFL Vegas odds are shaping up for them to do it again.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers At A Glance
Odds to Win | Opening Odds | Current Odds (FanDuel 6/28) |

Conference | +3000 | +2600 |
Division | +290 | +290 |
Regular Season Win Total | 7.5 (o-140, u+115) | 7.5 (o-150, u+122) |
To Make Playoffs | Yes +140, No -170 | Yes +146, No -178 |
Continuity is Key
- Defying expectations, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers exceeded their 2023 win total of 6.5 by a significant margin, winning the division and making the playoffs despite Tom Brady’s retirement.
They’ve built on that success this offseason by retaining most of their core players.
Offensively, Baker Mayfield returns under a new contract. While he’ll have a new offensive coordinator, Liam Coen, he’s played for him before. So the transition shouldn’t be too difficult.
The receiving corps remains elite with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, and rookies Trey Palmer and Jalen McMillan add depth and speed. The running game should improve with Rachaad White returning and rookie Bucky Irving likely taking over the RB2 role.
Defensively, the core remains intact with Lavonte David, Antoine Winfield Jr., and Vita Vea anchoring the unit. While they lost some veterans on the line and at linebacker, they drafted replacements and signed Randy Gregory to bolster the pass rush.

Overall, the Bucs prioritized continuity and kept most of their winning team intact. If the defense can replace some key departures effectively and young players continue to develop, they should be a force again.
Mayfield will be under pressure to maintain his strong 2023 showing, but with a solid supporting cast, he has the potential to excel.
With a strong team returning and a favorable division, the Buccaneers have a good chance of exceeding their projected win total once again and putting up great 2024 Tampa Bay Buccaneers stats.
Super Bowl Odds: Unlikely, but Anything is Possible
- Last season the Bucs had long odds to win the Super Bowl, +10000. They surprised everyone by putting up a fight in the playoffs and almost making the NFC title game.
Now, their Super Bowl odds are shorter at +6000, but we still don’t see them having the talent to go all the way.
Unless Baker Mayfield has an MVP-caliber season and the Bucs defense improves to a level we haven’t seen, save your money on Buccaneers Super Bowl bets.
Conference Odds: Shorter Than Expected
- Last year the Bucs were +4000 to win the NFC. They made it within a few points of making the NFC Championship but fell short. This year they are +3000, but the NFC is deep.
We don’t see the Bucs beating out teams like the 49ers or Eagles to win the NFC.
Division Odds: Former Champs, Now Underdogs
The NFC South is going to come down to the Atlanta Falcons or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite being +750 underdogs to win the division last season, that is exactly what they did.
Now, they are once again underdogs at +290.
The New Orleans Saints and the Carolina Panthers leave much to be desired at the quarterback (and many others) position.
The Saints are projected with the same amount of wins as the Bucs, but they have proven much less. The Falcons are the odds-on favorites to win the division, but with an aging Kirk Cousins coming off an Achilles injury at the helm we aren’t convinced.
Regular Season Wins: Stuck in the Middle
Last season the Bucs had low expectations. They were projected at six wins at -150 to hit the over before the season started.
They blew that win total out of the water with their surprise nine-win campaign, shocking many NFL fans. The 2024 Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ stats likely won’t be as great as last season, but exceeding their 7.5-win total is possible.
To Make Playoffs: Four in a Row
- The Bucs have made the playoffs four years in a row. They were favorites to make it in the first three years, but last year they beat out +375 odds to make the playoffs.
This year their NFL playoff odds are +140 to make it, and it depends on how weak the rest of their division plays. If Atlanta or New Orleans can’t conjur solid seasons, they could be headed for five in a row.
