2024 NFL Week 1 Odds: Anticipating An Amazing Rookie Class!
Never Too Early for Some NFL Talk, Not in This Neck of The Woods!

The 2024 NFL season is still more than three-and-a-half months away, but that hasn’t stopped the sportsbooks from posting lines on the opening week games. The 2024 NFL schedule is a little different from the past few seasons.
There’s only one Monday game, with a Friday night game added for opening week. The season starts with a bang, as Baltimore visits Kansas City on Thursday. There are several other decent matchups in our early look at the 2024 NFL Week 1 odds.
Thursday, Sept. 5
Baltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefs
-2.5 (-115), 47
You can’t fault the league for having this game kick-off the season, as the team with the best record in the NFL last season plays the Super Bowl champions.
There appears to be reluctance on the part of the sportsbooks to move the line to Chiefs -3, so they’ve adjusted the price a bit instead. The Chiefs are tied with the 49ers for the lowest Super Bowl odds at +600. Baltimore is third at +900. The Ravens could be a popular teaser player here.
Friday, Sept. 6
Green Bay Packers vs Philadelphia Eagles
-1.5, 48.5 (Sao Paulo, Brazil)
The Packers and Eagles meet in the first-ever game played in Brazil. The Eagles are the slightest of favorites in this spot. Philadelphia did finish two games in front of the Packers last year, so the price could be a little bit on the low side.
Sunday, Sept. 8
Jacksonville Jaguars at Miami Dolphins
-3.5, 49 (under -115)
The regular slate of Sunday games begins with an all-Florida battle between Jacksonville and Miami. The Jaguars have a point to prove after last season’s disappointing finish. Miami’s season also came to an abrupt end in the playoffs with an ugly loss at the hands of the Chiefs.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Atlanta Falcons
-3, 43
Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons host the Steelers in a decent game between a couple of squads that missed the playoffs a year ago. Russell Wilson should get the start for the Steelers, with Justin Fields serving as the backup unless something unexpected happens in training camp.
Minnesota Vikings at New York Giants
-1, 41.5
The NFL Draft pundits said J.J. McCarthy was the most NFL-ready quarterback and we’ll find out if they were right in this game. It’s either McCarthy or Sam Darnold for the Vikings. The Giants need somebody to get the ball to Malik Nabors. The New York starting quarterback could be decided by the NFL preseason games.
Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints
-5, 40.5
The 2024 NFL Week 1 odds have New Orleans -5 over the Carolina Panthers, which sounds a shade low on the surface. New Orleans could be another popular teaser play with bettors on opening weekend. Carolina added a few decent players in the draft, but the Saints should be the better team once again.
New England Patriots at Cincinnati Bengals
-9, 42
The line here is pretty high, but not too hard to justify. Drake Maye could very well be on the bench for the start of the season, leaving Jacoby Brissett as the starter. Brissett is a great back-up, but a bit below average as a starter. The Bengals are primed for a better season that last year’s 9-8 record.
Tennessee Titans at Chicago Bears
-4.5, 43.5
There will be a lot of interest in this game due to Chicago’s prized rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. It’s not always easy to ask a rookie QB to win by at least five points. Will Levis went through some ups-and-downs for Tennessee last year. It’s just a question if it helped him any.
Arizona Cardinals at Buffalo Bills
-7, 48.5
The 2024 NFL Week 1 odds have Buffalo -7, which might be a tad low, but is reasonable. The Cardinals were a much better team after Kyler Murray returned and now have a key receiver in Marvin Harrison Jr. Buffalo All-Pro safety Micah Hyde is still without a contract. The NFL news and rumors say he’ll either get a new deal from the Bills or retire.
Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts
+2.5, 48
The Houston Texans are one of just two road favorites opening weekend. A healthy Anthony Richardson would be big for Indianapolis. The Texans won the division last year, although there’s no guarantee they’ll do so again.
Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers
-3.5, 43.5
The Chargers were one of the biggest disappointments last season, but are favored to get the new season started off on the right foot here. Aidan O’Connell enters the season as the starter, with Gardner Minshew the backup for Las Vegas.
Washington Commanders at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
-4, 41.5
The Bucs have won the last two division titles in pretty ugly fashion, but will once again be in the mix this season. Baker Mayfield fit in well with Tampa Bay. Jayden Daniels might be too good to leave on the bench for Washington and could get the start here.
Denver Broncos at Seattle Seahawks
-5, 42
There’s a fair chance we’ll see Bo Nix as the Denver starting quarterback here. The Broncos have moved on from Wilson. Geno Smith is back as the starter and Sam Howell has moved from the Commanders to be the backup QB here.
Dallas Cowboys at Cleveland Browns
+1, 44
The 2024 NFL Week 1 odds have Dallas as the second road favorite of the week in what could be a decent game. Deshaun Watson should be good to go for Cleveland here. Dallas was just 4-5 on the road last season.
Los Angeles Rams at Detroit Lions
-3.5, 51
The Sunday night game isn’t a bad one, as Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford face their old teams. That will be the big storyline surrounding this game, although Goff is surrounded by better talent for the most part.
Monday, Sept. 9
New York Jets at San Francisco 49ers
-6, 45
The final game on the Week 1 schedule should see Aaron Rodgers and the Jets visiting the 49ers on Monday night. New York didn’t get great production at quarterback after Rodgers went down in the first game of the season. The 49ers are going to battle for a Super Bowl berth this season.
