Bengals vs Cowboys Betting Odds: Bouncing Back

Cincinnati-Dallas Lead Matchups Between Winless Teams

After less-than-ideal starts to their season, the Cincinnati Bengals take on the Dallas Cowboys. The Bengals vs Cowboys betting odds favor the visitors by over a touchdown because of Dallas’s quarterback situation: Dak Prescott is out until after Week 10. Dallas is desperate to stay afloat while the Cincinnati Bengals’ odds to win their first win of the 2022 NFL season are significant. This matchup leads the late Sunday afternoon slate that begins at 4:05 p.m. ET.

Bengals Primed to Feast on Wounded Cowboys

The Bengals felt the “Super Bowl hangover” right off the bat as Joe Burrow threw four picks in the first half as Cincinnati lost to Pittsburgh. But Cincinnati rallied in the second half and almost pulled it off. If this was indicative of the Bengals, they should walk away from Arlington with their first “W” of the season.

The Cowboys, on the other hand, put up just three points and lost Prescott to a thumb injury. Cooper Rush will lead Dallas against Cincinnati. The 28-year-old appeared in five games last season and started one, throwing 422 yards with three touchdowns and one interception.

Cincinnati has covered five straight road games dating back to last season. But most of these were as underdogs so the Bengals vs Cowboys betting odds are deceiving in this way. Dallas has gone 3-1-0 against the spread (ATS) as a home underdog under Mike McCarthy and a touchdown and change seem like plenty of room.

The total is also something worth noting as Cincinnati’s last six games have gone under while five of its last six meetings with Dallas have as well. In Dallas’s case, 10 of their last 13 games have gone under, and with several injuries on offense, the trend may continue on the Bengals vs Cowboys betting odds.

Atlanta Falcons vs Los Angeles Rams

Rams Can Return to Form Against Falcons

The Rams also felt the Super Bowl hangover as they let the Bills blow them out in their own stadium. Los Angeles returns to the scene of the crime against an easier opponent on paper, the Falcons. The home team is laying 10.5 points in this matchup. Under Sean McVay, the Rams have only covered 51.4 percent of their home games as a favorite (18-17-3).

The Falcons, under Arthur Smith, are only 4-7-1 ATS as an underdog. This team is supposed to be one of the worst this season but it was this close to beating the Saints last week. Atlanta has a few names on their NFL injury report for Week 2. But which team doesn’t? Los Angeles should win but if Matthew Stafford’s arm continues to bother him, it could get sketchy.

Seattle Seahawks vs San Francisco 49ers

Niners Could Shine Within Friendlier Confines

Of the 10 teams playing this late afternoon, the Seahawks are the only winning team. Seattle turned the tables on Russell Wilson’s Broncos and they look for a second straight upset against their division rivals. The 49ers had a rough season opener. Trey Lance was brutal as the Bears’ defense and the thunderstorm made life difficult for him, to say the least.

Unfortunately for Mr. Lance, weather forecasts show rain when his Niners host the Seahawks. San Francisco is also just 1-7 in their last eight home games against Seattle. Geno Smith was efficient in Seattle’s victory over Denver while the defense forced some crucial turnovers. It’s unlikely they repeat both feats this Sunday and the book is only giving them less than a 25 percent chance to pull it off again.

Arizona Cardinals vs Las Vegas Raiders

Cardinals and Raiders Decide Desert Supremacy

A desert duel pits the NFC’s Cardinals against the AFC’s Raiders. Arizona got lit up by Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs while the Raiders lost against Justin Herbert and the Chargers. Kyler Murray was “okay” in Week 1 but if the Cardinals’ defense continues to struggle, it may be an abbreviated season for Kliff Kingsbury. Oddsmakers favor the Raiders to hand them a second straight loss.

Josh McDaniels has a decent shot, nearly 70 percent, to win his first game as a Raider, however, the team is only 8-14 ATS as a favorite at home since Derek Carr began quarterbacking for the team. Arizona, on the flip side, has the third-best cover rate (76.5 percent) among road underdogs since 2019 at 13-4-2 ATS (minimum five games).

Houston Texans vs Denver Broncos

Will the Broncos “Let Russ Cook” This Time?

Wilson left Seattle for Denver only to find himself stymied by his new coach. It was to the delight of both Seahawks fans and alumni as they wasted no time dancing on his grave. The sportsbook is not daunted as it continues to line Denver as a large favorite – bigger this time as they host the Texans with a 10 – NFL point spreads.

Houston covered their spread last week as they tied the Colts. Lovie Smith’s crew is actually a winning team on the spread at 9-8-0 since last season. The Texans have also covered four of their last five spreads. Wilson is undefeated against Houston and possesses a 102.4 passer rating in three games against them. It may be time to unshackle Denver’s $250-million dollar investment.
