Can Justin Fields Prove He’s The Guy For 2024?
The Bears vs Falcons H2H Matchup Features Many Interesting Angles

The Atlanta Falcons will look to keep their playoff hopes alive in a road game against the Chicago Bears.
While the Bears aren’t playing for playoff position, Chicago is still evaluating its quarterback position, knowing it’ll likely have the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft in 2024.
It’s not because the Bears were terrible this season. They’re 6-9 and have won three of their last four games. It’s because the Bears have Carolina’s first-round draft pick after trading with the Panthers last year.
The Bears need to asses if they’d rather hold onto Justin Fields or draft a new quarterback with that draft pick.
Lately, Fields has showcased that the Bears can win with more talent around him.
That’s why the Bears are -3 (-105) at home against the Falcons heading into this Week 17 showdown. Meanwhile, the total is 37.5, with the Over juiced to -115.
The Falcons are still just one game out of the NFC South and still have a chance at winning the entire division.
This game will have a lot of implications and change NFL history for years. Check out the Bears vs Falcons H2H betting preview below.

Bears vs Falcons H2H Trends
The Chicago Bears have been much more profitable than the Falcons against the spread this season. The Bears have gone 7-6-2 against the spread, while the Falcons are just 5-10 against the spread this season.
Meanwhile, Atlanta has hit the Over in only five of 15 games, while the Bears have hit the Over and Under in seven games each. The Falcons pushed one total this season.
Atlanta has been dominant at home. However, the Falcons are on the road this week. They’re just 2-4 on the road this season.
On the other hand, the Bears have a 4-3 record at home.
The Falcons won against the Bears in 2022, 27-24, as 2.5-point favorites. The Falcons were home in that game.
Should Arthur Smith Get Another Year?
The Atlanta Falcons are just 7-8 with two games remaining this season. The team is very talented, with lots of household names with so much potential. However, sometimes, it seems like the head coach, Arthur Smith, is always putting his team in a position to fail.
Atlanta’s offense has regressed under Desmond Ridder, and he’s flip-flopped quarterbacks multiple times this season.
At times, the Falcons have also struggled to get the ball in Atlanta’s best playmaker’s hands and stay consistent on that side of the ball.
It’s been three years, and fans aren’t happy with Smith. He’s been on the hot seat all season long despite the Falcons still having a chance to make the playoffs.
Smith will find ways to win some big games. But he’ll also find ways to lose some really ugly games. The consistency isn’t there for Smith.
If we had a vote, we’d elect to find a new coach for Atlanta.
Chicago’s Defensive Resurgence
The Bears have won three of their last four games this season. That’s the same number of games the Bears won through the first 11 games of the season.
While the offense has played better, it’s more the defense.
The Bears have held teams to no more than 20 points over their last four games. The Bears have held teams to 16 or fewer points in their previous three wins.
The secondary has improved behind Jaylon Johnson, and the linebackers between Tremaine Edmunds and T.J. Edwards have stepped up.
If the Bears can add a couple more wins before the regular season concludes, they’ll ride a lot of momentum into next season. Free agents might want to come to Chicago after all.
The Home Team Is Cooking!
We just talked highly of the Chicago Bears’ defense. However, the Falcons have some momentum heading into Week 17.
The Falcons elected to bench Desmond Ridder for Taylor Heinicke, and it paid dividends quickly last week. The Falcons defeated a potential playoff team in the Indianapolis Colts, 29-10 at home. Heinicke only threw for 229 yards and one touchdown. However, he didn’t throw an interception and let the running backs cook.
The three-headed monster on the Falcons includes Bijan Robinson, Tyler Allgeier, and Cordarrelle Patterson. Each runner added at least seven carries, and they combined for 5.9 yards a carry, which included two carries from Heinicke.
You’d also like to see Drake London and Kyle Pitts get consistent reps. But the Falcons stuck with the ground game, which was efficient enough. That likely won’t continue against the Bears, who have allowed only 80.67 yards per game on the ground this season.
Meanwhile, the Bears have also dominated in the secondary, earning close to 20 interceptions this season. Heinicke’s likely going to get baited into at least one turnover.
Meanwhile, the Bears will face a Falcons defense that has looked great against the run. But in the secondary and as a pass rush, Atlanta is a bit overrated. The Falcons have only allowed 197.53 yards per game in the air. However, the Bears have given up some big plays down the field and aren’t always on the same page.
You won’t find any Super Bowl odds for the Bears. However, the good news is that Chicago doesn’t have many NFL injury updates to report for this game. After surfing through the NFL scores and odds, we’ll back Chicago -3 in this Bears vs. Falcons H2H matchup.
