Dalvin Cook’s Next Team Odds: Miami, Betting Favorite for Pro Bowl Running Back
Dolphins Priced at -300 to Land Former Viking

The NFL offseason has quieted down, though there’s still some quality talent left on the free-agent market. Look no further than running back Dalvin Cook. The former four-time Pro Bowler was released by the Minnesota Vikings earlier this month, ending his six-year tenure with the franchise.
Cook, who turns 28 next month, was set to count for $14.1 million in cap space this season, a big figure considering the relatively short shelf life for aging running backs. Cook’s talent is undisputed. He ran for 1,173 yards in 2022 and has averaged 110.7 yards per scrimmage over the last four seasons, second in the NFL behind only Derrick Henry. But he underwent shoulder surgery in February and has seen injuries pile up.
Here are Dalvin Cook’s next team odds.
THE FAVORITE
Miami Dolphins (-300)
Miami has been pegged as the most likely landing spot for Dalvin Cook’s next team odds. Why? Well, for starters, there’s an obvious need. The Dolphins rushed for the third-fewest yards in the NFL last season. Despite drafting former Texas A&M standout De’Von Achane in the third round, the Dolphins still could use more help in the backfield, especially if they want to squeeze the most out of their talent elsewhere on offense.
It’s also worth noting that Cook grew up in Florida and played collegiately at Florida State, so Miami would represent a homecoming of sorts.
NEXT IN LINE
New York Jets (+250)
The Jets are going all-in after trading for 39-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers. While Breece Hall looked electric as a rookie, he’s coming off a torn ACL. Adding Cook would give New York quality insurance in case Hall isn’t entirely back to form.
Buffalo Bills (+500)
Head coach Sean McDermott took another committee approach last season, splitting carries between Devin Singletary and James Cook, Dalvin’s younger brother. Quarterback Josh Allen also ran plenty, finishing second on the team with 124 attempts.
Cook would like to play for a contender, and Buffalo certainly meets the criteria. The Bills have the second-shortest Super Bowl odds on the board at +800.
Cincinnati Bengals (+900)
Joe Mixon is still on the roster, though Cincinnati reportedly may ask him to take a pay cut. Mixon’s current $12 million/year deal runs through 2024. Should he refuse the team’s request, Mixon would likely be released.
In that case, while the Bengals drafted former Illinois star Chase Brown in the fifth round, they’d likely look to add another veteran back. Cook would meet their need.
Dallas Cowboys (+1000)
Ezekiel Elliott is gone, leaving Tony Pollard as the unquestioned lead back. Pollard is certainly capable (1,007 rushing yards last season). However, he’s coming off a broken fibula suffered in the playoff loss to San Francisco.
Jerry Jones is known to leave no stone unturned and may find Cook too enticing to pass up.
THE LONGSHOTS
Baltimore Ravens (+1600)
J.K. Dobbins, Baltimore‘s projected No. 1 back, has played only eight games the last two seasons because of knee issues. On top of that, he’s currently involved in a contract dispute with the team.
After bringing in Odell Beckham Jr. and re-signing Lamar Jackson to a record $260-million deal, the Ravens don’t want Dobbins to hold them back this season.
Philadelphia Eagles (+1600)
Cook would be more of a luxury than a necessity for Philadelphia. The defending NFC champions replaced Miles Sanders by trading for D’Andre Swift. They also signed Rashaad Penny and brought back Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott.
Cook would have a great chance to win a Super Bowl in Philadelphia. The Eagles are the NFC favorite at +325, per NFL picks. But the backfield is already a bit crowded.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+1800)
Tampa Bay could use more backfield help after releasing veteran Leonard Fournette. Rachaad White, who had 129 carries for 481 yards last season, is in line to take on a larger role.
Cook could see a quick path to playing time, but Tampa Bay doesn’t fill the bit as a contender. With Baker Mayfield taking over for Tom Brady at quarterback, the Buccaneers are slated to be one of the worst NFL teams. They’re projected for just 6.5 wins this season.
Other Dalvin Cook’s next team odds: 49ers (+2000), Patriots (+2000), Bears (+2000), Saints (+2500), Rams (+3000).
