Diontae Johnson Could be In Mix to Cash Prop Tickets
Panthers Receiver Finished With Over 1,400 Yards Receiving for Steelers

After five seasons in Pittsburgh with the Steelers, the team traded receiver Dionte Johnson to the Carolina Panthers this past Spring for cornerback Donte Jackson and the 178th overall selection in the 2024 NFL draft.
The time was right after Johnson missed a month with a hamstring injury suffered in week one in 2023. The former Toledo Rocket started 11 games, the lowest total of his career. In 2021 Johnson was selected to play in the Pro Bowl but since, his production has declined.
Now with a fresh start in Carolina, there is talk that if he stays healthy Johnson could be in the mix to cash out on a long-shot prop. With the NFL schedule kicking off in about a month, let’s examine the available 2024 Diontae Johnson season odds props.

NFL Regular Season Receiving Yards Leader Prop
Tyreek Hill (Miami, 7-1) and CeeDee Lamb (Dallas, 7.5-1) lead a long list of receivers who could lead the league in receiving yards in 2024, but further down the list at 41-1 is Dionte Johnson who will be the featured receiver for head coach Dave Canales and OC Brad Idzik.
Winning this long shot will be about health for Johnson because back in 2021 when he started in 14 games, the 28-year-old caught 107 passes for 1161 yards.
Using that number for last season, that would have placed Johnson 13th in the NFL, but using that same total and assuming Johnson will remain healthy over an entire season, we’re looking at a player in his prime who could approach the 1,300-yard mark which would make him a top 10 receiver.
With the Panthers odds to win the Super Bowl as high as 300-1, the connection of Johnson and quarterback Bryce Young, or perhaps Andy Dalton when he comes back from a quad injury, may become one of the surprise combinations of the season considering third and long may be the norm for most of the season.

At 140-1, Johnson Is a Touchdown Long-Shot
Among the available NFL player props, we’re looking for players who are in new roles or teams and will be leaned on to stretch the field. Diontae Johnson checks all those boxes and with a career-high eight touchdowns in 2021, Johnson was once considered one of the top second-tiered receivers in the league.
Fantasy experts will tell you that Johnson is a guy who will stretch the field but isn’t someone who will get a great deal of yards after the catch. However, Jonson will receive way more targets in Carolina compared to Pittsburgh, where George Pickens (1140 yards) was quarterback Kenny Pickett’s main target.
The Panthers will benefit from Johnson’s ability to get separation from DBs, an aspect Carolina had very little of last season.
The team’s 34.14% third down conversions were a direct reflection of defenses harassing the Panthers OL because there was very little threat that Carolina’s receiving corp would win many one-on-one battles on third and long or even medium. That should change this season making 140-1 an attractive option with fingers crossed but not our top 2024 Diontae Johnson season odds prop.

The Best Diontae Johnson Prop Option is?
The benefit of having multiple sportsbooks at your disposal is the ability to peruse through multiple 2024 Diontae Johnson season odds. We did just that to find a prop that’s a simple over/under wager involving total yardage that should cash out.
This was the best option for bettors who wanted to win and not just throw money in the air hoping it would blow back at them.
The prop is simple, will Johnson’s receiving yards exceed 750 with the over sitting at -140? The 6th-year pro would have easily eclipsed this total last season (717 yards) with another half of football in him, which would have made it the fourth straight year he would have eclipsed that total.
There is no doubt with Johnson being the top option that he’ll go over that mark this season. The reality is you’re betting on whether he’ll stay in the lineup for most of the season and we bet yes.
