He’s Paid, But How Will He Play? Jaylen Waddle Preview

2024 Jaylen Waddle Season Odds, Predictions and More

The 2024 Jaylen Waddle Season odds have arrived and we are going to take a look at the NFL betting lines to see how he will do against his receiving props this season.

  • Waddle’s opening lines for the 2024 NFL season were 1000.5 (over -110/under -110) passing yards.

FanDuel currently has his receiving yards props unchanged from their opening line and has his receiving touchdowns prop at 5.5 (over +108/ under -136).

Waddle is the number two receiver on the Miami Dolphins behind the favorite to win Offensive Player of the Year, Tyreke Hill.

Although Hill is the cornerstone of the Dolphins’ offense, with Tua Tagovailoa at the quarterback position, there are plenty of offensive opportunities.

Hill commands so much attention on defense that Waddle has been able to capitalize and grab plenty of catches and yards for himself.

Waddle is even in the top ten for the shortest odds to have the most receiving yards in the NFL this season. Here is that list:

Let’s look at Waddle’s history and current positioning to see if his 2024 Jaylen Waddle season odds are good for some of our preseason NFL picks and parlays.

Past NFL Seasons and the Futures

Waddle’s 2023 season was marked by two NFL injuries that limited his availability. A concussion early on and a high-ankle sprain later forced him to miss games.

Despite this, he achieved career highs in efficiency metrics like yards per route run and targets per route. However, the biggest difference between 2022 and 2023 was a drop in touchdowns.

Touchdown rates fluctuate year-to-year, so this shouldn’t be a major cause for concern.

Looking ahead to 2024, Waddle’s recent contract extension solidifies him as a core piece of the Dolphins’ offense for years. He’ll continue to operate alongside the explosive Tyreek Hill, who shows no signs of slowing down despite entering his thirties. Miami added some receiving options, but they shouldn’t significantly cut into Waddle’s targets.

The return of Tagovailoa and coach Mike McDaniel is another positive sign. Tagovailoa thrived in the quick-strike passing game last year, and his continued development could further benefit Waddle.

However, the offensive line appears to be a potential weakness that could impact overall production.

Waddle has caught for over 1,000 yards in each of his first three NFL seasons. He had 104 receptions for 1,015 yards in his rookie season, 75 catches for 1,356 yards in his sophomore campaign, and 72 catches for 1,014 yards last season.

  • Waddle only played 14 games last season and still eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark. If he can stay clear of injuries it seems that he should easily be able to go over his receiving yards prop.

That being said, betting against injuries in the NFL is a tough game to play.

Waddle’s touchdown count has also trended above his current line of 5.5. Waddle scored six touchdowns in his rookie season, eight in his second year, but only four in his shortened 2023 season.

Again we think he will have plenty of opportunities to hit his touchdown over.

Other NFL Props for 2024

Waddle’s NFL MVP odds are extremely long at +40000. If you think a Dolphin could win the award betting on his quarterback Tagovailoa at +3000 is probably a better bet. Even taking Hill at +10000 is much more likely.

Over on Both

Jaylen Waddle’s 2024 season odds seem low. There is no reason to believe he won’t play the best football of his career in his fourth season.

Even with missing multiple games to injury last season, he still went over his current receiving yards prop of 1000.5. He has gone over that line every season in his career and we like his chances to do the same this season.

For touchdowns, the increased options on the Dolphins’ receiving core may hamper his ability to grab more than 5.5. But it is still possible. He has gone over that line in two of his three seasons.

Here are some Dolphins prop bets that can involve Waddle’s performance:

  • Miami Dolphins to Score 1+ Touchdown in every Regular Season Game +110
  • Tyreek Hill AND Jaylen Waddle to Both Score 10+ Receiving TDs Each +1100
  • Miami Dolphins to Score 1+ Passing Touchdown in every Regular Season Game +1200
  • Tua Tagovailoa to Throw 40+ Passing Touchdowns in the Regular Season +1400
