McCaffrey, Henry Favored to Lead NFL in Rushing TD
Mostert +1400 to be 2024 NFL Rushing TD Leader

San Francisco’s Christian McCaffrey may be the NFL’s most productive running back, but nobody rushed for more touchdowns last season than Raheem Mostert.
The Dolphins star ran for 18 scores, more than doubling his previous career-high.
Can he maintain that production? The odds may not be in Mostert’s favor. Then again, anything is possible from one week to the next in the NFL.
With that in mind, here are the best bets among projected 2024 NFL rushing TD leaders.
2024 NFL Rushing TD Leader: THE FAVORITE
Christian McCaffrey (+600)
McCaffrey led the NFL with 21 touchdowns last season, 14 of which came on the ground. He then scored five more times in the playoffs.
McCaffrey will continue to be the featured weapon in Kyle Shanahan’s offense — not to mention the consensus No. 1 NFL fantasy pick — as he chases another NFL Offensive Player of the Year award.
Because of that, McCaffrey is an obvious favorite in this market at +600.
2024 NFL Rushing TD Leader: TOP CONTENDER
Derrick Henry (+650)
Henry may be slowing down, but even at 30 years old, he remains among the most consistently productive backs. The four-time Pro Bowler and two-time rushing champion has scored double-digit touchdowns in six consecutive seasons. He led the league in rushing touchdowns in both 2019 and 2020.
Henry also had the most carries by a running back last year, with 280. Even if his workload changes in Baltimore, Henry should have ample opportunities in the red zone. Opposing defenses will have their hands full with Baltimore’s read-option attack.
NEXT IN LINE
Raheem Mostert (+1400)
Mostert was the surprise leader in rushing touchdowns last season, scoring 18 times. That blew away his previous career-high of eight (2019 with San Francisco).
The well-traveled veteran also topped 1,000 yards for the first time, rushing for 1,012 yards on 209 carries as Miami’s No. 1 back.
Mostert surely remains a big part of the Dolphins’ offense, though De’Von Achane could cut into his role if he stays healthy.
Jalen Hurts (+1400)
The master of the tush push, Hurts has 38 rushing touchdowns in the last three seasons, including 15 in 2023.
Despite losing Jason Kelce to retirement, the Eagles’ offensive line remains among the best in the NFL.
That, plus the addition of Saquon Barkley, has Hurts poised for another big season.
Josh Allen (+1400)
Allen — who at +1400 shares the best odds of any quarterback — is as dangerous with his legs as with his arm. He ran for a career-high 15 touchdowns last season, then scored three more times in the playoffs per NFL scores.
He’s not afraid to take matters into his own hands.
Jonathan Taylor (+1400)
Despite missing seven games last season, Taylor still managed to rush for seven touchdowns on 4.4 yards per carry. He’s in line for another big role in the Colts’ offense, which gets back quarterback Anthony Richardson (shoulder surgery).
Taylor, who led the NFL with 18 rushing touchdowns during his All-Pro season in 2021, should get 300-plus carries if healthy.
Saquon Barkley (+1600)
In leaving New York for rival Philadelphia, Barkley goes from one of the NFL’s worst offensive lines to possibly its best.
Injuries have been an issue for the former No. 2 overall pick, who tore his ACL in 2020 and missed three games last season with a high-ankle sprain, but his talent is unquestioned. He overcame constant blocking issues to surpass 1,000 yards rushing in three of his six seasons as a Giant.
He should flourish in his new home.
Kyren Williams (+1600)
The 2022 fifth-rounder was a revelation last year, emerging as the Rams’ clear-cut No. 1 back after Cam Akers failed to win the job. Williams rushed for 1,144 yards and 12 touchdowns in 12 games. The Rams went 1-3 in four games he missed because of injury.
Williams was recently sidelined from OTAs with a foot issue, possibly opening the door for rookie Blake Corum to get more work. But Williams should be good to go for training camp.
Breece Hall (+1600)
Hall returned from a torn ACL last season to run for 994 yards and five touchdowns. He had seven carries of at least 20 yards, tied for fifth-most in the NFL.
If Aaron Rodgers stays healthy, Hall’s production could spike.
Bijan Robinson (+1600)
Was Robinson underutilized as a rookie? He had 15 or fewer carries in 13 of his 17 games and surpassed 20 carries just once. Despite that, Robinson still managed to rush for 976 yards. He also scored eight touchdowns, including four rushing.
New head coach Raheem Morris will surely emphasize getting Robinson the ball.
LONGSHOTS
De’Von Achane (+2000)
Achane flashed his potential as a rookie, rushing for 800 yards and eight touchdowns on just 103 carries during an injury-plagued season.
It’s unrealistic to expect Achane to continue averaging over 7.0 yards per carry, but there’s questioning his big-play abilities.
His 2024 NFL rushing TD leader odds would be higher if not for his shared role with Mostert.
Josh Jacobs (+2000)
Jacobs, the NFL’s rushing champion in 2022 with 1,653 yards, replaced Aaron Jones in Green Bay. He’s rushed for nine or more touchdowns in three of his first five seasons and is slated to be the Packers’ lead back.
- Other 2024 NFL rushing TD leader odds: Jahmyr Gibbs (+1800), David Montgomery (+1800), Kenneth Walker III (+2000), Anthony Richardson (+2000), Travis Etienne Jr. (+2500)
