The Carolina Panthers have been on the clock for over a month since their blockbuster trade with the Chicago bears.

NFL draft odds‘ moves over the last few weeks strongly suggest Bryce Young will don the #1 overall first-pick odds jersey.

#31 Kansas City Chiefs: Felix Anudike-Uzomah (DE, Kansas State)

And capping off the opening round, the Kansas City Chiefs take Kansas State defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah who sneaks in just under the wire at +150 odds as a first rounder.

#30 Philadelphia Eagles: Nolan Smith (EDGE, Georgia)

The Philadelphia Eagles take Georgia edge rusher Nolan Smith with the 31st overall pick. Smith carried -200 odds on the over for his position of 10.5 and falls well below that number.

#29 New Orleans Saints: Bryan Bresee (DL, Clemson)

Back to back Clemson picks as the New Orleans Saints take defensive lineman Bryan Bresee. Bresee was favored at -200 to go in the first round, but manages to sneak just under his over-under at 29.5 to cash the +190 price on the under.

#28 Cincinnati Bengals: Myles Murphy (DE, Clemson)

The Cincinnati Bengals scoop up defensive end Myles Murphy from Clemson as the 28th overall pick. Markets faded Murphy at his over-under of 18.5, driving the over to a -250 price which cashes.

#27 Jacksonville Jaguars: Anton Harrison (OT, Oklahoma)

The Jacksonville Jaguars finally execute their pick, taking Anton Harrison at 27. No one had a bet on Harrison. He was a longshot (+5000) as first O-line off the board.

#26 Dallas Cowboys: Mazi Smith (LB, Georgia)

The Dallas Cowboys take Georgia linebacker Mazi Smith at 26, narrowly pulling him into the first round and cashing out his even-money odds to go in the first round.

#25 Buffalo Bills: Dalton Kincaid (TE, Utah)

The Jags keep trading down, this time with the Buffalo Bills who take Dalton Kincaid at 25 overall. Kincaid took money to go under 24.5 but instead misses his mark by one and pays out at +200 on the over.

He does cash as first tight end off the board at -105 (a slight underdog versus Michael Mayer who had -115 odds as first TE).

#24 New York Giants: Deonte Banks (CB, Maryland)

Swapping with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the New York Giants bump up a spot and take Maryland cornerback Deonta Banks. Banks had an over-under posted at 20.5 at flat odds and pays out for those who faded him at that position.

#23 Minnesota Vikings: Jordan Addison (WR, USC)

The Minnesota Vikings take Jordan Addison from USC at 23rd overall as the wide receivers fly off the board.

Addison had few options on the board beyond first (+750) or second (+400) wideout off the board but failed to pay out.

#22 Baltimore Ravens: Zay Flowers (WR, Boston College)

The run continues: the Baltimore Ravens take Boston College wide receiver Zay Flowers at 22 overall. Flowers was favored at -125 as the second wideout off the board but slips to third and cashes for no one.

#21 Los Angeles Chargers: Quentin Johnston (WR, TCU)

The run on wide receivers begins: At 21st, the LA Chargers take Quentin Johnston from TCU. Johnston was priced at -180 to be picked under 26.5. He also cashes +250 odds as second WR taken and -400 as a first-round selection.

#20 Seattle Seahawks: Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR, Ohio State)

The Seattle Seahawks take the first wide receiver off the board in Ohio State’s Jaxon Smith-Njigba at 20th. Smith-Njigba was heavy chalk at -300 to be the first wideout selected, but did fall in recent weeks.

He still cashes +550 odds as a first-round pick, as well as +2000 odds to be taken by the Hawks.

#19 Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Calijah Kancey (DT, Pitt)

The Tampa Bay Bucs select Pitt defensive tackle Calijah Kancey at 19th overall. Kancey courted closing odds of -400 as a first rounder.

#18 Detroit Lions: Jack Campbell (LB, Iowa)

The Detroit Lions take Iowa linebacker Jack Campbell who takes +300 odds as first LB off the board at number 18. (He was behind Drew Sanders on the board.)

Campbell was also a +300 underdog as a first rounder.

#17 New England Patriots: Christian Gonzalez (CB, Oregon)

The New England Patriots trade back up to snag Oregon corner Christian Gonzalez at 17th overall. This comes as no surprise to the odds who had Gonzalez at -300 as a first rounder.

Gonzalez did also have minus odds as a Top 10 choice but failed to cash that for backers.

#16 Washington Commanders: Emmanuel Forbes (CB, Mississippi State)

The Washington Commanders scoop Mississippi State corner Emmanuel Forbes at 16. Forbes was listed at -450 as a first-rounder and comfortably cashes those odds.

#15 New York Jets: Will McDonald (DE, Iowa State)

Passing on the perfect troll move of drafting a QB, the New York Jets settle on DE Will McDonald out of Iowa State.

McDonald was an outside shot at +2500 to be picked top ten but gets 15th place in the end.

#14 Pittsburgh Steelers: Broderick Jones (OT, Georgia)

Trading up with the New England Patriots, the Pittsburgh Steelers take O-line Broderick Jones of Georgia. He pays out at +195 just under the wire as the 14th overall pick. His over-under was 14.5 and juiced to the over.

#13 Green Bay Packers: Lukas Van Ness (EDGE, Iowa)

Lukas Van Ness earns the chalk for his position: he was listed at -160 to go under 14.5 as the edge rusher from Iowa is picked 13th by the Green Bay Packers.

#12 Detroit Lions: Jahmyr Gibbs (RB, Alabama)

The Detroit Lions take running back Jahmyr Gibbs in a bit of a stunner as the second running back off the board at 12. Gibbs cashes at +2000 to be drafted by the Lions.

The over for 1.5 running backs in the first round pays out at +275.

#11 Tennessee Titans: Peter Skoronski (OT, Northwestern)

Northwestern O-line Peter Skoronski gets picked 11th by the Tennessee Titans, just missing out cashing his Top 10 pick odds of +100.

#10 Chicago Bears: Darnell Wright (OT, Tennessee)

Cashing at +225 as second O-line off the board, Darnell Wright was not listed on the tenth position board but does cash at +225 as a Top 10 pick with the Chicago Bears.

#9 Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Carter (DT, Georgia)

Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter gets picked by the Philadelphia Eagles who trade up with the Chicago Bears. Carter listed at +400 odds for the position at close, tied for fourth place on that board.

#8 Atlanta Falcons: Bijan Robinson (RB, Texas)

Falling into line with the odds, Bijan Robinson gets scooped by the Atlanta Falcons in 8th place overall. Robinson carried odds of +175 in this position.

#7 – Las Vegas Raiders: Tyree Wilson (DE, Texas Tech)

Defensive end Tyree Wilson out of Texas Tech gets the nod as seventh overall by the Las Vegas Raiders. Wilson closed at odds of +600 to be drafted at that number, a solid underdog price.

#6 – Arizona Cardinals: Paris Johnson (OT, Ohio State)

The Arizona Cardinals trade up with the Detroit Lions to take OT Paris Johnson at sixth overall. Johnson may be a bit of a surprise in his draft position, but was considered to be the top O-lineman off the board priced at -450.

#5 – Seattle Seahawks: Devon Witherspoon (CB, Illinois)

Another surprise: Illinois CB Devon Witherspoon as the fifth overall off the board to the Seattle Seahawks. He led the fifth overall list at -125 earlier in the week but closed at +2000 just before close.

#4 – Indianapolis Colts: Anthony Richardson (QB, Florida)

Anthony Richardson surprises the markets as the fourth overall draft pick. He cashes at +150 but carried odds as high as +400 earlier in the week.

#3 – Houston Texans: Will Anderson (EDGE, Alabama)

Crashing the expectation of the markets, the Houston Texans immediately trade back up to the third spot to take a defensive player, Will Anderson.

The edge rusher from Alabama cashes at +300 for third overall pick. He was also listed top non-QB to go off the board at -375.

#2 – Houston Texans: C.J. Stroud (QB, Ohio State)

After a rollercoaster move from first to fourth on the odds board, CJ Stroud gets the nod at second pick to the Houston Texans.

Stroud slumped in odds over the last few days getting to +300 but shot back up in the hours leading up to the draft closing at about -1600.

Rumors swirled in the week leading up to the draft the Stroud could slip down the board but he walks away as second overall.

#1 – Carolina Panthers: Bryce Young (QB, Alabama)

To absolutely no one’s surprise, Bryce Young of Alabama is selected first overall by the Carolina Panthers.

Young opened as high as +400 for top pick but moved to a heavy favorite about two weeks ago. This morning, he could be found as high as -20000 at some books.

Outlets are reporting Young as number one is a good result for them. Worse would have been CJ Stroud, Will Levis or Anthony Richardson going first overall.
