NFL 2024 Preview Week 6: Bills vs Jets Key Slated Game
Jags Hit London For First of Two Straight Games

The sixth week of the 2024 NFL season is now here and has a couple of decent contests. There are also several games that look as though they could go either way, so a decent schedule of games. There are three big games that are spread out during the week, so the NFL did well in that regard. The Chiefs, Dolphins, Vikings and Rams are sitting out this week. The NFL 2024 preview week 6 will look at all the games on the schedule from a betting perspective.

49ers vs Seahawks
⏰Day/Time:
Odds: San Francisco -5
Total: 46.5
This one isn’t a bad game, although it turns out that way if Seattle doesn’t come to play. Seattle’s home field advantage hasn’t been so spectacular the last few years. Since the start of the 2021 season, Seattle is just 13-12 straight-up at home. Seattle used to be the place no visiting team wanted to visit, but that doesn’t look to be the case any longer. The 49ers host Kansas City next week, so a potential look-ahead spot for San Francisco. The NFL week 6 betting trends show while the Seahawks are no longer beasts at home, there are still 6-3 as a home underdog the past three years. Take Seattle plus the points.
Jaguars vs Bears
(London)
⏰Day/Time: Odds: Jacksonville -1
Total: 47.5
The Jaguars are in their home away from home in London, where the team has developed a steady following. The concept still should be unique enough to where the players don’t dread the trip, as once again Jacksonville plays back-to-back weeks in London. It will be a unique experience for the Bears, who get a little overwhelmed by all the media events and promotional activities they’re expected to partake in. On the field, the teams are rated close to even, with the Jags maybe slightly better. That, coupled with Jacksonville’s familiarity to playing in London has the Jags as one of the NFL picks against the spread for this week.
Colts vs Titans
⏰Day/Time: Odds: Indianapolis -1.5
Total: 44.5
The Colts and Titans start the traditional Sunday schedule, and Indianapolis is a small road favorite. Indianapolis should have the better team, but it’s also hard to trust them as road favorites. The Titans didn’t make a splash in the offseason, but did improve the offensive line and cornerback positions. The NFL Week 6 line of Colts -1.5 will have some using the Titans in teasers and pushing the line to 7.5. That makes sense here and isn’t the worst of moves you can make in this game.
Browns vs Eagles
⏰Day/Time: Odds: Philadelphia -3
Total: 45.5
A pretty solid game here, as the Browns visit the Eagles. The NFL Week 6 point spreads are exactly what you would expect in this game with Philadelphia a 3-point favorite. The two teams are rated fairly close in terms of talent, it’s a question of which teams show up for the game. It’s a big enough contest that both teams should be focused and not worried about next week’s division contests. The early thought is to look at the under 45.5 in this one.
Texans vs Patriots
⏰Day/Time: Odds: Houston -4.5
Total: 44
The NFL 2024 preview Week 6 sees a potential flat spot for the Texans. Houston is coming off games with Jacksonville and Buffalo. A trip to Green Bay is on the schedule for next week. That could make it a little difficult to get up for the dismal Patriots. Drake Maye may not be ready to start for New England, but the Patriots will still be better at quarterback with Jacoby Brissett. The Texans may be a popular play this week in the NFL Week 6 confidence picks, but take the Patriots to keep it close and cover the spread.
Cardinals vs Packers
⏰Day/Time: Odds: Green Bay -5
Total: 46.5
This one isn’t the worst of the NFL Week 6 matchups and does have some promise to be an entertaining game. The Cardinals will be better on the defensive front, which is something that hurt them a year ago. Whether it’s enough to help the team win more games isn’t quite so clear cut. Green Bay should get its share of passing yards and Kyler Murray is capable of matching that. The over 46.5 could be the way to go in this game.
Buccaneers vs Saints
⏰Day/Time:
Odds: New Orleans -1.5
Total: 43
An NFC South battle between Tampa Bay and New Orleans sees the home team as slight favorites. The Buccaneers are hoping their offseason moves will help the run blocking, which has been dismal the past few years. That would help the passing game more than anything. New Orleans figures to battle for the division title and this game will be a big one in the NFL standings 2024. The division is likely going to come down to the wire and each victory will be key.
Commanders vs Ravens
⏰Day/Time: Odds: Baltimore -8.5
Total: 46.5
The Ravens are coming off games with Buffalo and Cincinnati, so it could be asking a lot for a big effort here. A lot of that will be determined by how well Jayden Daniels plays in the first five weeks. If he plays well and is getting a lot of hype, it will be a little easier for the Ravens to take the game seriously. Lamar Jackson may also have a point to prove as it pertains to running quarterbacks. If Daniels is average, the potential for a letdown is more likely on the part of the Ravens. The NFL Week 6 spreads 2024 suggest a play on the Commanders +8.5.
Chargers vs Broncos
⏰Day/Time:
Odds: Los Angeles -2
Total: 43
The NFL 2024 preview Week 6 sees the Chargers favored by 2 points on the road at Denver. The Broncos should have another down season, while the Chargers should be better than they were a year ago. Los Angeles did lose some talented players but has been working to improve the offensive line. It’s not quite as glamorous as keeping your big-name players, but it’s what winning teams do. The Chargers are expected to show big improvement, although it might not come as easy as some believe. The Broncos are worth grabbing as a teaser play here.
Steelers vs Raiders
⏰Day/Time: Odds: Pittsburgh -1
Total: 43
This one lacks the big-name teams, but on paper, looks to be a pretty solid game. The Steelers are in better shape at quarterback than they have been the past few years even if they are using other teams’ rejects!
Mike Tomlin managed to win with some less-than-stellar quarterbacks, so Pittsburgh could surprise some people this season. Being favored on the road against a good home team in the Raiders is a tall order, however. Las Vegas is a tough place for visiting teams and there are plenty of distractions for visiting teams. Don’t be surprised to see the NFL scores showing the Raiders coming out on top of this one.
Lions vs Cowboys
⏰Day/Time:
Odds: Dallas -1
Total: 48.5
This one could be the best game of the day on Sunday. The Cowboys do have a few questions entering the season, but will still be a decent team that battles for the NFC East title. Detroit brings back nearly all of its offensive weapons and made some upgrades to the cornerback positions. The NFL Week 6 lines appear to be a little cheap on the Cowboys. Dallas is still a solid team and can’t pass them up at this price.
Falcons vs Panthers
⏰Day/Time: Odds: Atlanta -3.5
Total: 44
This one looks like one of the least appealing NFL Week 6 matchups, as Atlanta travels to Carolina. The biggest goal for the Panthers this season is to earn some respect and stop being thought of as an automatic victory. Carolina will have to earn it on the field and hope their additions on the offensive line give Bryce Young more time to throw. A healthy Kirk Cousins is a big quarterback upgrade for the Falcons. This game doesn’t offer a lot of betting value on either the side or the total.
Bengals vs Giants
⏰Day/Time: Odds: Cincinnati -4.5
Total: 45
This is another game involving an AFC North team where a potential letdown could rear its head. The Bengals are coming off a game with Baltimore and have the Giants up next. It’s not going to be easy to get motivated to play the Giants even if it is the Sunday night game. That might be the only advantage New York has in this game, as the Bengals are the better team. It might be asking too much to make the Giants one of your NFL Week 6 upset predictions, but New York +4.5 isn’t a bad wager here.
Bills vs Jets
⏰Day/Time: Odds: New York -1.5
Total: 47.5
A solid AFC East matchup between two of the three teams expected to battle for the division title. By the time the game rolls around, we should have a better idea of which of the three is most likely to make a serious title run. The Bills are still the more proven team and well-rounded. The Jets did make some moves to bolster their offensive line in the offseason, not wanting to see Aaron Rodgers injured again. The obvious teaser play of Bills +7.5 pops up here, although the Bills don’t look too bad as one of your NFL Week 6 point spread plays.
