NFL AFC Matchups Odds: Week 7 Features Home Schooling
Home Teams Favored Despite Records

AFC Hosts Face Risky Matchups for Early Sunday on Week 7
Week 7 features four early Sunday matchups hosted by AFC favorites. But buyer beware. If you’re looking to bet chalk here, be wary of potential upsets. After all, underdogs have ruled this NFL season with last week, Week 6, being a prime example as five won eight of their matchups for the early portion of the Sabbath.
Overall, underdogs are also covering the spread 58.8 percent of the time (30-21-1). As such, take these Week 7 NFL AFC matchups odds with grains of salt.
Indianapolis Colts vs Tennessee Titans

- Location: Nissan Stadium, Nashville, Tennessee

Colts Make Themselves at Home in Tennessee
The AFC South’s top spot is at stake when the Colts roll into the Nissan Stadium. This will be these rivals’ second and final meeting in the regular season and something that has favored Indianapolis in recent history. The Colts lost to the Titans in their Week 4 game but Indianapolis has won eight of its last 10 games in Tennessee.
The Titans have won six straight games coming off a bye and are 4-0 coming with Mike Vrabel. The extra rest also benefits a team that has several banged-up players like Bud Dupree (hip) and Amani Hooker (concussion) on defense and Nate Davis (knee) on the offensive line.
But Tennessee lives up to its moniker and has gutted out three consecutive wins after starting out 0-2. This NFLÂ point spread week 7 is the Titans’ first time as a favorite since its home opener against the Giants. Likewise, the Colts have gone 3-1 since starting winless in its first two weeks. Founded on potent rushing attacks and gritty defense, a combined 18 of their last 22 games have gone under the total.
Atlanta Falcons vs Cincinnati Bengals
- Records: Falcons (3-3), Bengals (3-3)
- Location: Paycor Stadium, Cincinnati, Ohio
Fourth-Quarter Studs Face Off in Cincinnati
Six weeks into the NFL season and only one team stands unbeaten on the spread: the Atlanta Falcons?! Arthur Smith and Marcus Mariota have found a way to cover the spread consistently thanks to being one of the best, if not the best fourth-quarter team since Week 2.
Atlanta has outscored its opponents 45-10 in the fourth quarter since they lost to New Orleans in Week 1. This has contributed to Atlanta’s immaculate spread record as well as their surprising NFL standing. Atlanta now has three wins, which is just two away from going over their expected win total of 4.5.
Cincinnati is also versed at being reliable on the point spread. The Bengals have covered 12 of their last 14 games and are 5-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last six home games. Even if their games get ugly, the Bengals get the job done. That’s because, like Atlanta, Cincinnati rules the fourth: it has outscored its opponents 43-15 hence why these teams make interesting NFL AFC matchups odds.
Cleveland Browns vs Baltimore Ravens
- Records: Browns (2-4), Ravens (3-3)
- Location: M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, Maryland
Ravens Can’t Get Clipped By Browns
Lamar Jackson’s passer rating is just 56.3 in the fourth and his average yards gained per pass attempt is 3.69. These are far cries from his overall average of 93.2 and 7.0, respectively.
On the other end of the spectrum are the Bengals’ AFC North rival: the Ravens. This team has been abysmal in the late portions of games and is 3-3 despite having led every one of their games up until the fourth. Baltimore has been outscored 22-64 in the fourth. In fact, the Ravens’ epic collapse against Miami had them giving up more points (28) than they’ve scored in the fourth all season.
This isn’t just on the defense but on the offense as well. Baltimore has only scored two of its 18 touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Lamar Jackson’s passer rating is just 56.3 in the fourth and his average yards gained per pass attempt is 3.69. These are far cries from his overall average of 93.2 and 7.0, respectively.
Baltimore has also not covered a home game this season (0-2-1 ATS). But the Ravens have owned the Browns having covered five straight times including their last two home games. Cleveland is just 1-4 ATS in its last five games. Cleveland also has the best rushing attack (1st in yards gained) while Baltimore has the seventh-best in defense (6th in yards allowed).
New York Giants vs Jacksonville Jaguars
- Records: Giants (5-1), Jaguars (2-4)
- Location: TIAA Bank Field, Jacksonville, Florida
Fearless Giants Hunt in Jacksonville
Doug Pederson faces an old adversary as the Giants come to town. Against him is a rookie head coach, Brian Daboll, who has jumped to the shortlist of Coach of the Year contenders with his Giants exceeding expectations. The “G-Men” were expected to win 7.5 games and now have five. The team is also undefeated as an underdog: 4-0 on the moneyline. A $100 wager on each game would have returned a total of $815.
Jacksonville isn’t too shabby as one either. The Jaguars are 2-3 as an underdog and bettors would still be up $55 on a $100 wager on these games. But this team is reeling as it let its division rivals, Houston and Indianapolis, embarrass it on both ends of the ball – Houston limited the offense to six points while the Colts shredded the defense for 34 points and 434 total yards.
The NFL AFC matchups odds favor Jacksonville at home here so the Giants have a shot at making more money as an underdog. The NFC side has momentum on their side. Alternatively, this game could be low-scoring. The total has gone under for 64.7 percent of the Giants’ road games since 2020.
