NFL Games Week 6 Odds-NFC: Packers Looking to Get Back on Track After Loss to Giants

New York Giants Look to Pull Off Another Surprise Against Lamar Jackson's Ravens

Can the Falcons Remain Perfect Against the Spread on Sunday?

NFL Games Week 6 Odds Preview: Some of the top teams in the NFC will be in action during Sunday’s early games. The highlight could be the surprising New York Giants trying to add the Baltimore Ravens to the upset victims so far this season.

The New Orleans Saints will look to take down defending AFC champion Cincinnati while not falling further behind Tampa Bay in the NFC South while NFC West-leading San Francisco meets up with a rebuiidlng Atlanta team.

PointSpreads is taking a look at the four early games on Sunday being hosted by NFC teams.

Baltimore Ravens vs New York Giants

Date, time (TV): (CBS)

Line: Baltimore -5.5

Lamar Jackson, who currently has the fourth-best odds in the race for the NFL’s regular-season MVP award, has thrown five interceptions and has been sacked nine times. Another NFL stat to look at is that he has thrown for 12 touchdowns and ran for two more, so slowing him down will be the latest challenge for the Giants.

Downplay the early success of the New York Giants at your own risk. The Giants have already posted wins over the Tennessee Titans and Green Bay Packers, the No. 1 seeds in the AFC and NFC Playoffs a season ago.

The defense is better than expected and on offense, Saquon Barkley is back to his pre-injury form while Daniel Jones is being asked not to lose games. The philosophy seems to be working as the Giants are off to a 4-1 start.

The 3-2 Ravens lost by four points by Miami and by three points to Buffalo. Both of those losses came at home. Baltimore is one of two AFC teams still undefeated on the road.

One aspect of the game to consider is that Giants defensive coordinator Don “Wink” Martindale previously held the same position with the Ravens so if anybody knows the key to containing Jackson, he would be that person.

Baltimore is 5-2 straight up and against the spread in the last seven meetings with the Giants.

Cincinnati Bengals vs New Orleans Saints

Date, time (TV): (CBS)

Line: Cincinnati -2.5

After leading Cincinnati to the Super Bowl during his second season in the NFL, it has been a little different story this season for Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow. His tendency to look to make plays down the field has played a role in Burrow being sacked 18 times. There are 16 players with more receiving yards than last year’s rookie sensation Ja’Marr Chase so there is room to grow for both of them.

The Saints are happy to have Taysom Hill back. He teams with Alvin Kamara to give the Saints two top running options.

Injuries have been a problem on offense with quarterback Jameis Winston, receiver Michael Thomas, Hill and Kamara all missing games. Now there are questions about the status of rookie receiver Chris Olave after he entered concussion protocol.

The Saints have 10 sacks and will look to put the pressure on Burrow, while second-year linebacker Pete Werner is off to a strong start to lead the defense for the 2-3 Saints.

One thing to consider when looking at the NFL Games Week 6 odds, Cincinnati (2-3) is 11-2 against the NFL betting lines over the last 13 games while each of the Bengals’ last 10 games finished under the total. Eight of the last New Orleans games have also gone under.

The Bengals have won four of the last six road games against the Saints. This is one of the games that the NFL Week 6 point spreads views as the more competitive matchups among the early contests.

San Francisco 49ers vs Atlanta Falcons

Date, time (TV): (CBS)

Line: San Francisco -5

If the Falcons had trouble blocking the defensive line of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, what will they do against Nick Bosa and the rest of the ferocious San Francisco defense?

Jeff Wilson is averaging more than five yards per carry for the 49ers (3-2) while Deebo Samuel looks to rebound after catching just two of nine targets in last week’s win over Carolina.

The Falcons could have tight end Kyle Pitts back, but how much longer is Marcus Mariota going to get as the Atlanta starting quarterback?

Only five NFC teams have allowed more points than Atlanta and now the Falcons traded away former Pro Bowl linebacker Deion Jones.

The 2-3 Falcons are the only NFL team that has covered in each of the first five games. The total has gone over in four of the last six games between the NFC rivals. How will this San Francisco 49ers at Atlanta Falcons game turn out?

New York Jets vs Green Bay Packers

Date, time (TV): (CBS)

Line: Green Bay -7.5

Who would have thought that the Packers and Jets would have the same record after five games as a pair of 3-2 teams are set to square off?

It might not be the best week to draw the Green Bay Packers after they lost to the Giants a week ago in a game played in London.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is dealing with a thumb injury, but he should be able to shake that off and start airing it out. There have been health issues among his pass catchers and that has played a role in Green Bay managing only 97 points so far.

The Jets rookies are starting to see more time, so look for running back Breece Hall and receiver Garrett Wilson in this game. The Jets are coming off wins over Pittsburgh and Miami and now look to take down the Packers.

It might be a surprise to some to realize that the Jets are 8-4 over the last 12 games against the Packers.

When looking at the NFL Games Week 6 odds, the Jets are 6-3 against the spread over the last nine games compared to Green Bay covering in just two of the last seven contests.
