NFL Props: 2024 Devonta Smith Season Odds Preview
“Slim Reaper” Looks to Go Over 1000-Yard Mark, Third Straight Season
The 2023 season wasn’t as productive for Philadelphia Eagles stand-out wide receiver Devonta Smith after sneaking over the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the second straight season.
Smith failed to meet his 2022 production by 14 catches totaling 130 yards. Despite the small statistical setback, the third-year weapon is as dangerous as ever with a 55.4% receiving success rate and his highest catch percentage (72.3%) of his career.
Let’s preview a few 2024 Devonta Smith season odds to determine which props you should be aware of this season.
Smith, 46-1 Long-Shot to Lead NFL in Receiving
We had to dig deep to find Devonta Smith props, but we managed to find a few that feature a decent return if they hit, but all of these should be treated as fun bets for Eagles fans who want to put some cash behind their players.
- For Smith to put his name among the NFL elite like Tyreek Hill (Mia), CeeDee Lamb (Dallas), and Amon-Ra St. Brown (Detroit) he’s going to have to add at least 500 more yards to his season total.
There is little doubt Smith is in the discussion as one of the best second-level wideouts, unfortunately, the Eagles’ success prevents him from being a serious contender to cash this kind of prop because Philly doesn’t have to lean on one or two players to move the ball like the Miami Dolphins and the Dallas Cowboys.
Any handicapper will tell you that their NFL playoff picture predictions will include the Eagles because of their weapons like quarterback Jalen Hurts, wide receiver AJ Brown, and tight end Dallas Goedert.
That’s a lot of mouths to feed before getting to the former Alabama Star.
We’re Getting Closer to Cashing Out But Still an Unlikely Winner
Last season, Adams pulled down seven touchdowns, good for ninth place among receivers. There is a case to be made that Smith could climb into the top five this season if he only had eight other players to climb over but it’s not that easy.
- Adams did finish in the top 10 in receiving touchdowns but tied with 10 players and that’s just the start.
For Adams to lead the league in touchdown catches, he would have to leap over 26 players and that’s not going to happen. Smith is 46-1 to cash this wager. We’ll look to see if we can find a more reasonable Devonta Smith prop to bet.
I would say goodbye to all my loved ones in a second if it meant I got to be Devonta Smith. https://t.co/KjKnGg7WJl

We’re Leaning on This Wager Again
The best way to keep a 2024 Devonta Smith season odds wager alive is to eliminate the field and forget about the 4th year pro being an NFL league leader.
- Smith’s season yardage total prop is set for 975.5. This is a sharp number but a little too high for our taste. First, over Smith’s first three seasons, the Louisiana native averaged 1059 yards per season.
Over those years, the durable receiver failed to play in just two games. Smith is 25 years old but at some point, he’s going to miss games because of an NFL injury.
Let’s be conservative and say he misses two games this season, that would mean he would have to average 65 yards receiving per game which is right at his career average.
We suggest going under the total with the Eagles adding running back Saquon Barkley (NYG) and WR Parris Campbell (NYG). The Eagles improve but Smith’s numbers decline.
