NFL Week 15 Preseason Preview: All Teams Back in Action

Bills-Lions, Chiefs-Browns Top Games of the Week

Week No. 15 of the 2024 NFL season brings with it an end to bye weeks, so all 32 teams will be in action. There may not be any big marquee games on the schedule, but there are a few strong matchups.

The week will begin the playoff push for some teams. Teams that are out of the playoff picture could start to play more young players. We’ll look at the entire NFL schedule in NFL Week 15 preseason preview.

NFL Week 15 Preseason Preview

Rams logo Rams vs 49ers 49ers logo

⏰Day/Time: Thursday, Dec. 12, 8:15 p.m. ET
Odds: San Francisco -6.5
Total: 47

The week begins with a fair contest between the Rams and San Francisco. The game could help decide the NFC West NFL playoff standings.

Even with a tough road game at Miami ahead, there’s no reason the 49ers aren’t focused for this game. The two teams met way back in Week 3.

As good as the 49ers are, the home favorite role wasn’t a very good one for them last season. San Francisco was 3-5 ATS in the regular season and 0-2 against the spread in the playoffs.

  • Los Angeles was 4-2-1 as an away underdog and see a little value in taking the Rams for one of your NFL Week 15 picks.

Commanders logo Commanders vs Saints Saints logo

⏰Day/Time: Sunday, Dec. 15, 1:00 p.m. ET
Odds: New Orleans -3
Total: 42

The NFL Week 15 betting lines have New Orleans -3 over Washington. This is one of those game where the early line could look much different than the point spread during the week of the game.

Much of that will hinge on the play of Jayden Daniels. If he’s as good as advertised, Washington could surprise some people.

  • If he suffers from the ups-and-downs of being a rookie quarterback, the Commanders could be in for a long season. New Orleans was 5-2 straight-up as a home favorite last season, but just 3-4 ATS.

Dolphins logoDolphins vs TexansTexans logo

⏰Day/Time: Sunday, Dec. 15, 1:00 p.m. ET
Odds: Houston -2.5
Total: 49

A decent game here, as the Texans are early 2.5-point favorites over the Dolphins. Miami will be used in some teasers, as people can push the line past the key numbers of three and seven.

Still, it’s not easy to take the Dolphins as an away underdog after their 1-4 spread record a year ago. Most of the games weren’t even close, as the Dolphins lost by an average of 19.2 points.

  • The Texans were 2-2-1 ATS as a home favorite and had an extra week to prepare for this game. Houston looks to be the right side for your NFL picks today.

Ravens logo Ravens vs Giants Giants logo

⏰Day/Time: Sunday, Dec. 15, 1:00 p.m. ET
Odds: Baltimore -6.5
Total: 44

This one could get a little ugly if the Ravens play the way they’re capable of. Baltimore is coming off a bye and has Pittsburgh on deck.

  • The Ravens were 3-2 ATS as an away favorite last season. The Giants went a solid 5-2-1 as a home underdog last season. There isn’t a whole lot of incentive for the Ravens to try and pour it on here.

The NFL Week 15 odds suggest a play on the under 44 in this one.

Jets logo Jets vs Jaguars Jaguars logo

⏰Day/Time: Sunday, Dec. 15, 1:00 p.m. ET
Odds: New York -1
Total: 44

This one isn’t a bad NFL Week 15 matchup, as the Jets visit the Jaguars. Jacksonville looks to be the biggest threat to Houston winning the AFC South, while the Jets have to try and get past Buffalo and Miami in the AFC East.

New York’s defense is solid and the oddsmakers are counting on a healthy Aaron Rodgers this season.

The Jets have gotten plenty of respect in the early lines and this could be a case of them getting a little too much. The Jaguars aren’t a bad team and a healthy Trevor Lawrence will make a big difference. Take the Jaguars at home.

Cowboys logo Cowboys vs Panthers Panthers logo

⏰Day/Time: Sunday, Dec. 15, 1:00 p.m. ET
Odds: Dallas -6.5
Total: 44

  • The NFL Week 15 preseason preview has Dallas 6.5-point favorites at Carolina. The Cowboys were 4-1 as an away favorite last season.

Dallas did play the Bengals on Monday night, so it’s a short week. The big question for the Panthers is how much better they’ll be in 2024.

There’s no question the team will have more talent, it’s a question if that will translate into more wins. The NFL Week 15 spreads look about right here, so there’s not a lot of value in the game. The Cowboys could be used in a few teasers this week.

Bengals logo Bengals vs Titans Titans logo

⏰Day/Time: Sunday, Dec. 15, 1:00 p.m. ET
Odds: Cincinnati -4.5
Total: 46

  • The NFL Week 15 point spreads have the Bengals as 4.5-point road favorites at Tennessee. Cincinnati is coming off a Monday night game with Dallas and has Cleveland up next.

The situation isn’t the greatest for the Bengals, although the standings may be enough to keep them focused here.

The Titans were a great home underdog last season, going 5-1 against the spread. It won’t be a popular play with the betting public, but the Titans deserve some consideration as your NFL pick of the week.

Chiefs logo Chiefs vs Browns Browns logo

⏰Day/Time: Sunday, Dec. 15, 1:00 p.m. ET
Odds: Kansas City -3 (Even)
Total: 44

This one is one of the best games of the week, as the Chiefs visit Cleveland. There should be no worries about looking ahead or behind in this game.

The Browns are likely going to need the game more, just due to having Baltimore and Cincinnati in the division. Cleveland was 2-1 as a home underdog last season.

  • Kansas City was 3-3-1 as an away favorite last season. It’s hard to argue with the Week 15 NFL spreads in this game. The number is pretty solid and should attract good two-way action.

The under could be worth a look, since Cleveland will to keep the score low.

Steelers logo Steelers vs Eagles Eagles logo

⏰Day/Time: Sunday, Dec. 15, 4:25 p.m. ET
Odds: Philadelphia -4.5
Total: 45

The NFL Week 15 preseason preview sees the two Pennsylvania teams battling it out in Philadelphia. The early Week 15 NFL odds see the Eagles as 4.5-point favorites.

Pittsburgh is more than capable of staying within that number if the defense is playing well. The Steelers were 3-3 as an away underdog last season, dropping the two games they allowed 30 points in.

  • The Eagles were 6-1 straight-up as a home favorite, but 3-3-1 against the spread. There is a slight case to be made for Pittsburgh in this one.

Buccaneers logo Buccaneers vs Chargers Chargers logo

⏰Day/Time: Sunday, Dec. 15, 4:25 p.m. ET
Odds: Los Angeles -3 (-105)
Total: 42.5

Tampa Bay visits the Chargers in a game both teams are hoping has some bearings on the playoffs. The Buccaneers play in a weak division, which could help them, while the Chargers have to deal with Kansas City in the AFC West.

Tampa Bay wasn’t pretty last year, but were 7-1 ATS as an away underdog during the regular season. That’s one of the top NFL trends this week and a decent reason to give the Buccaneers a look in this game.

Colts logo Colts vs Broncos Broncos logo

⏰Day/Time: Sunday, Dec. 15, 4:25 p.m. ET
Odds: Indianapolis -2.5
Total: 44.5

  • Indianapolis travels to Denver as a 2.5-point road favorite in a game that could feature a pair of former SEC quarterbacks in Anthony Richardson and Bo Nix.

Richardson is surrounded by better NFL players, which gives his team the advantage. Indianapolis won both games last year as an away favorite. Denver was a home underdog just one time last year and upset Kansas City 24-9. Even though Denver might be down a little right now, it can still work the home magic. Of all the NFL matchups for this week, this is one of the tougher games to play.

Bills logo Bills vs Lions Lions logo

⏰Day/Time: Sunday, Dec. 15, 4:25 p.m. ET
Odds: Detroit -2
Total: 50.5

Another solid game of the NFL Week 15 schedule, as Buffalo visits Detroit. The Bills were just 1-2 as an away underdog last season.

Buffalo is expected to get another test for the division title from the Jets, along with Miami, so this could be a game it needs.

  • The Lions were 5-3 as a home favorite last season and split their two playoff games. Buffalo has the potential to pull off one of the NFL upsets this week, although Buffalo is probably best used in a teaser this week.

Patriots logo Patriots vs Cardinals Cardinals logo

⏰Day/Time: Sunday, Dec. 15, 4:25 p.m. ET
Odds: Arizona -3.5
Total: 44

Unless you’re going to use this game for one of your NFL betting picks this week, it’s hard to imagine anybody watching this one.

Especially when you have the Bills vs Lions and Steelers vs Eagles to choose from. The Patriots will be a decent NFL team again, but it’s going to take a bit of time. Arizona is in the same situation, but have a more established quarterback in Kyler Murray.

The Cardinals could have received a decent haul by trading him at the NFL draft and taking a quarterback, but elected to keep their best player and give him more weapons. It’s a bit easier to make a case for Arizona than New England in this one.

Packers logo Packers vs Seahawks Seahawks logo

⏰Day/Time: Sunday, Dec. 15, 8:20 p.m. ET
Odds: Green Bay -1
Total: 47

This isn’t the worst game to have for the Sunday night contest, as it should have some playoff implications. The Packers weren’t the best away team last year, going 4-5 straight-up.

Green Bay did come up huge at Dallas in the playoffs, then gave the 49ers a battle in the Bay Area in the playoffs before losing in a spread-covering effort.

That helped compensate for some of their earlier season struggles. Seattle was 5-3 at home last season, but 3-4-1 ATS. The Week 15 NFL Vegas odds on this game suggest a small play on the over.

Bears logo Bears vs Vikings Vikings logo

⏰Day/Time: Monday, Dec. 16, 8:00 p.m. ET
Odds: Chicago -1 (-105)
Total: 46

The first of two Monday night games this week sees Chicago visiting Minnesota. It’s possible both teams are at least in wild card contention, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see both teams out of it, either.

That’s the primary reason why there are two games scheduled. It’s quite possible we’ll see a pair of rookie quarterbacks playing in this one.

Minnesota could be used in some teasers this week and taking the line to a touchdown. The free NFL odds have this one about even and it looks as though it could go either way.

Falcons logo Falcons vs Raiders Raiders logo

⏰Day/Time: Monday, Dec. 16, 8:30 p.m. ET
Odds: Atlanta -1
Total: 45.5

This is another game that should have some bearing on the playoffs, as Atlanta is the favorite in the NFC South. Las Vegas typically plays tough at home, so it could be a decent matchup.

The Raiders were 6-2-1 ATS in front of the Las Vegas fans a year ago. There’s a bit of pressure on Kirk Cousins this season and he’s not always at his best when the game is on the line.

It’s hard to ignore how well the Raiders play at home and the NFL Week 15 predictions like Las Vegas to get the victory. This one calls for a slight lean on the Raiders.
