Steelers vs Seahawks NFL Odds: Seattle Favored in Key Game
Both Teams Entering Week With Playoff Possibilities

Both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks are thinking playoffs. But neither team can afford a loss on Sunday, when they meet in Seattle. Both teams are 8-7, with the Steelers currently No. 9 in the AFC standings due to losses to Houston and Indianapolis, the two teams they are tied with. Seattle is currently No. 7 in the NFC, but slots behind the Rams after losing both games to Los Angeles this season. The Seahawks have a one-game lead over four teams that are 7-8 for the final wild card spot in the NFC. The Steelers vs Seahawks NFL odds are showing Seattle favored by 3.5 (-105) and the total on the game is at 41 points.

Rudolph Lights Up Bengals
Pittsburgh needed a big game from Mason Rudolph against the Bengals and he delivered. Playing due to an injury to Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky’s ineffectiveness, Rudolph threw for 290 yards and two TDs against Cincinnati. Pickett is getting closer to returning and has been practicing this week. But so far, the Steelers are quiet on naming their starter. It could be hard to replace Rudolph, who led the Steelers to their highest-scoring game since 2021.
For the season, Pittsburgh is averaging just 17.1 points per game against teams allowing 21.7 points. Pittsburgh isn’t running or passing well, averaging just 294.4 yards of total offense. The Steelers are averaging 5.1 yards per play against teams that allow 5.4 yards per play.
Pittsburgh’s defense has played well for the most part, allowing 19.4 points to teams averaging 21.9 points per game. The Steelers have done a decent job keeping teams out of the end zone. Pittsburgh is allowing 4.3 yards per rush and 6.8 yards per pass attempt. But so far it hasn’t hurt the team too much.
Seattle Survives Brutal Schedule Stretch
The Seahawks had one of the toughest stretches of any team in the NFL, with the 49ers, Dallas, 49ers again and the Philadelphia Eagles in consecutive games. Seattle went 1-3 straight-up, but 4-0 against the NFL betting lines in that stretch. The Seahawks dropped out of a playoff spot, but last week’s victory at Tennessee moved them back into a wild card spot.
Drew Lock led the Seahawks to their last two wins, but Geno Smith should be good to go against Pittsburgh. The Seahawks are averaging 21.3 points per game against teams allowing 22.3. So Seattle has been pretty close to average offensively. The running game has been a little lackluster. Seattle averages 90.3 yards and 4.0 yards per carry. The passing game has been better than average, gaining 6.7 yards per attempt.
Seattle’s defense has also been pretty average, allowing 23.5 points to teams averaging 23.3. The Seahawks allow 4.5 yards per carry. But their opponents average 4.4 yards per rush, so Seattle is pretty much average against the run and the pass.
What to Expect
The Steelers may look to test Seattle’s rushing defense a little bit early on. If Pittsburgh can gain some yards on the ground, that will help whoever is at quarterback. The Steelers run 27 times a game and throw 31. If they can keep it close to a 50-50 mix, Pittsburgh’s chances of pulling off the win will increase. Pittsburgh is 5-4 against the NFL scores and odds as an underdog this season. So the Steelers can play teams tough.
Seattle likes to throw the ball and will stick with what it does best. The Seahawks throw 34 times a game and the run the ball 23 times. Seattle will likely have a similar split between running and passing here.
Who to Bet On?
The Steelers vs Seahawks NFL odds of Seattle -3.5 (-105) are close to what you would expect here. Both teams need the game, so the point spread wasn’t going to be too high. The Seahawks are 5-2 straight-up at home, but just 3-4 against the spread.
That makes Seattle a bit tough to use in your NFL picks and parlays. But Pittsburgh hasn’t fared well in Seattle in the past, winning just once there. The Steelers have dropped all four games at Seattle since 1993 by an average of 10.8 points and are 0-4 straight-up and against the NFL betting lines.
The Steelers vs Seahawks NFL odds on the total could be the way to go here. The Steelers have played three straight overs, while Seattle has gone under in its last three games. But there could be a bit more passing in this one than normal, so the over 41 is the way to go in this one.
