Super Bowl Touchdown Props: Scoring in the Season’s Biggest Moment

Which Players Will Make Their Mark This Super Bowl LVII?

Travis Kelce Leads Potential Touchdown Scorers

Super Bowl LVII is an NFL matchup between two of the NFL’s most talented teams with players who have scored dozens of touchdowns in their careers. But none of those would be any bigger than the ones they score in this game. This Sunday, several players may score in the endzone.

But one in particular, Travis Kelce, stands above the rest given the Super Bowl touchdown props.

Can Anyone Stop Kelce?

Kelce to score in this game… The NFL betting lines have him posted as the favorite in almost every touchdown category including anytime touchdown (-140), first touchdown (+575), and last touchdown (+600). That also includes scoring in both halves (+800) and to score two (+450) or three (+2000) or more touchdowns.

The tight end is approaching all-time status as he keeps climbing up the postseason touchdowns ladder. He owns the Kansas City Chiefs‘ record and has 15 touchdowns in 17 NFL playoff games. In Super Bowl LIV, he scored the team’s first fourth-quarter touchdown to kickstart the comeback that gave the franchise its first title in half a century.

Chiefs Have Other Weapons

If it’s not Kelce, Patrick Mahomes has other options to pick from. Marquez Valdes-Scantling (+190) caught a touchdown in both playoff games and Kadarius Toney (+210) almost did against the Cincinnati Bengals.

On the ground, Isiah Pacheco and Jerick McKinnon are both listed at +150 to score and +400 to score the Chiefs’ first touchdown per the Super Bowl touchdown props’ odds.

Alternatively, Mahomes himself is at +400 to score a rushing (or receiving) touchdown and +1400 to be the first Chief to do it. Indeed, we can’t count Mahomes out as an injury did not prevent him from engineering the Chiefs’ winning drive against KC. Even Travis Kelce’s brother, Jason, had nothing but praise for the quarterback:

“[Mahomes] is going to be one of the greatest of all time,”
“If everybody does their job, he feels good against any team they face.” The 35-year-old told the SportsRadio 94WIP morning show

Grounding the Eagles’ Rushing Attack

While the Chiefs assail the Philadelphia Eagles‘ defense with their passing attack, the Eagles will push the Chiefs in the ground game. Philadelphia is a juggernaut and its 38 rushing touchdowns lead the NFL. Even the San Francisco 49ers‘ vaunted defense could not stop Philadelphia as it ran the ball into the endzone four times.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts and Miles Sanders did most of the damage. Hurts may not be able to match Mahomes arm. But he’s rushed for 15 touchdowns including two in the playoffs. He’s listed at +750 to score the first touchdown of the game (+325 for the Eagles) and -110 to score at any time.

Sanders, the Eagles’ lead back, is at even money (+100) to score anytime and +650 to be the first. Either of the two could also have a multi-touchdown game.

Hurts had three games of 2+ touchdowns while Sanders had four. They are +550 and +450 to do it here, respectively.

That’s just the running aspect. The Eagles have plenty of receiving talents too. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith combined for 18 of the Eagles’ 25 receiving touchdowns this season. The Super Bowl prop bets have them listed at +130 and +175 to score.

Who Will Score That Clutch Touchdown?

Perhaps the biggest touchdown any player can score is the one toward the end of the game. If it’s a close game, the touchdown could be what defines this player’s legacy. From a Super Bowl touchdown props’ perspective, this could be a lucrative bet.

Kelce and Sanders (+600 each) are the favorites as the final touchdown scorer (+250 and +300 to score their team’s last TD, respectively). But what if it is an unsung hero who does it? There tends to be a hero in the Super Bowl and sometimes it is a player that most have not heard of David Tyree did not score the clinching touchdown for the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII but he made the most important catch.

Skyy Moore (+4500) could come up big for Kansas City in place of the banged-up JuJu Smith-Schuster. Justin Watson (+3000) is also slated to start in place of the reinjured Mecole Hardman.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire (+1000), who is still listed on the IR, has taken money as a surprise hero for this game.

On the Eagles’ side, Boston Scott (+2000) has surprisingly long odds even if he has scored in three straight games and has proven to be a reliable red-zone option.
