The New England Patriots Will Take A Step Back In 2024
2024 NFL Last Winning Team Odds: We've Released Our Best Value Bets For This Market

In the modern ERA, there have only been two winless teams in NFL history. The Detroit Lions went 0-16 in 2008, and more recently, the Browns finished 0-16 in 2017.
Both teams had a strength of schedule of teams above .500. The Lions faced teams with a combined winning percentage of 56%, while the Browns played against teams that won 52% of games that season.
While it’s super unlikely a team will not earn a win in 2024, it’s helpful to note that both teams with winless seasons at least lost mostly NFL playoff teams during those seasons.
The market for the last winless team is finally out with odds. We can now bet on the team that will be the last team to win a game.
Let’s break down the 2024 NFL last winning team odds below.
New England Patriots +750
The New England Patriots are the most likely to be the last winless team.
The Patriots will begin their schedule with a road game against Cincinnati. Then they’ll play at home against Seattle.
After those two matchups, New England will face the Jets and 49ers on the road before facing the Dolphins and Texas at home.
All of those teams are figured to have winning seasons with the potential to make it to the postseason.
After the Texas, the Patriots will take on the Jaguars on the road and face the Jets at home.
Finally, by Week 9, the Patriots would play the Tennessee Titans on the road. That looks like the first game the Titans could win. They’d also have the Chicago Bears in Week 10, which is also a possibility.
That said, the Patriots also look to have one of the worst rosters in the NFL.
At this time, Jacoby Brissett is the No. 1 quarterback ahead of first-round pick Drake Maye. Meanwhile, New England’s best receiver is Kendrick Bourne.
They’ll also rely on Demario Douglas and rookie Ja’Lynn Pol to carry the offense in the receiving game.
K.J. Osborn and JuJu Smith-Schuster will probably become reliable wide receivers for New England, but it’s an ugly group overall.
While the defense looks good, it’s hard to know how well they’ll play without Bill Belichick.
With a demanding schedule and a weak roster, the Patriots might not win until Week 9 or 10.

Carolina Panthers +750
The Carolina Panthers were horrible last year behind Bryce Young at quarterback. But maybe he will produce and improve in his second season under new head coach Dave Canales.
The Panthers added Xavier Legette, a rookie receiver from South Carolina, and brought in Diontae Johnson from Pittsburgh to play on the other side of Legette.
The team improved at wide receiver but will rely on Tommy Tremble at tight end unless Ja’Tavion Sanders earns the No. 1 position as a rookie.
The Panthers will begin their season on the road against the New Orleans Saints, which will be difficult. They will then continue against the Chargers at home and Las Vegas on the road.
Then they’ll have Cincinnati at home and Chicago on the road. Nobody would be surprised if the Panthers defeated Las Vegas on the road or added a win against Chicago on the road.
Ultimately, Carolina should improve this year in the NFL power rankings. If Bryce Young doesn’t show improvement early this season, Carolina could switch from Young to Andy Dalton.
No one will ever confuse Bryce Young with Lamar Jackson or Cam Newton, but last year he proved that his elusiveness can be a complimentary part of his game. pic.twitter.com/tSgp9e6q3W

Tennessee Titans +750
The Titans are a bit of a wild card with the 2024 NFL Last Winning Team odds. The offense has drastically improved despite the loss of Derrick Henry. Tennessee has finally committed to Will Levis as the starting quarterback.
They brought Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd to pair with DeAndre Hopkins and Treylon Burks. The offensive line looks pretty good, and Tony Pollard’s addition certainly won’t hurt.
Plus, with a matchup against the Chicago Bears to start the season, it would be hard to take Tennessee as the last winless NFL team.
While the Titans are on the road against Chicago, it’s hard to trust a rookie quarterback in Week 1.
There were high expectations for Bryce Young and he struggled as the No. 1 pick last year. The same could happen to Caleb Williams and the Bears.
With Tennessee having a real chance at winning Week 1, don’t bet on this.

Minnesota Vikings +750
Although the Minnesota Vikings added J.J. McCarthy in the first round of the NFL Draft, the NFL news and rumors believe Minnesota will start the season with Sam Darnold.
Having a veteran quarterback to start the season will certainly help with growing pains. That said, the Vikings added Aaron Jones as a running back and signed Justin Jefferson to a long extension. The offense should still be very good this season.
With a matchup against the Giants in NFL Week 1, it would also be hard to bet on the Vikings to be the last team to win a game. They could easily win Week 1. Darnold is used to playing at MetLife if nothing else.

Value: Chicago Bears +750
The Bears added some massive NFL draft picks between Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze. They also brought in D’Andre Swift as a running back and got Keenan Allen from the Chargers.
They all have great individual stats, but it might be more difficult to gel and earn big NFL team stats.
However, the Bears went 3-14 last season and finished fourth in the NFC North in Matt Eberflus’s first season.
- At +4500, the value is on fading Chicago when looking at the 2024 NFL Last Winning Team odds.
