The Super Bowl’s Best Props Bets: Win Within SBLVII’s First Two Minutes
Starting With The Coin Flip

Plenty of Prop Bets Will Cash Within Two Minutes
It becomes apparent quickly why the Super Bowl is the biggest sports betting event in America; within the first two minutes, as many as Super Bowl LVII prop bets can cash. From the coin flip to what the first play will be, bettors can get rich before a team even scores.
These Super Bowl best prop bets come in all shapes and sizes and are offered at different lines.
Heads or Tails? That is the Question
The coin toss marks not only how we start every Super Bowl, but also how the betting will go for a lot of bettors. The sportsbooks currently have a variety of ways to bet on this toss with 50/50 NFL betting lines. Three will be decided the moment the official announces the winner:
The coin toss result | Heads or Tails (-101) |
The winner of the coin toss | the Kansas City Chiefs or Philadelphia Eagles (-105) |
The team calling the coin toss to be correct | Yes or No (-105) |
There is another bet where the team winning the coin toss wins the game (-105), but bettors will have to actually wait till the game ends for that one.
Coin tosses have actually been near even since they were tabulated. In the last 56 Super Bowls, tails has a slight lead at 29-27. Last year, the Cincinnati Bengals won the toss as the Los Angeles Rams incorrectly called for “tails”. Heads was the result last year and in four of the last five Super Bowls. Prior to that, tails went on a four-year streak.
The Opening Kickoff Could Be Fireworks
Can anyone pull off a “Devin Hester” this Super Bowl LVII? It will certainly be the most exciting way to start the Super Bowl as the celebrated kick returner made history by scoring the first-ever opening kickoff touchdown.
“This is what I had been envisioning all week and actually for the past two weeks,”
“We had the chance to come out with the kickoff return on the first play of the game. But the bad part about it is that we didn’t come out with the victory.” Hester said after the game.
Indeed, if any from the Kansas City Chiefs or Philadelphia Eagles replicate this feat, the payoff would be a whopping 80-1: a $10 wager would return $800! That would easily be one of the Super Bowls best prop bets if it happens.
Additionally, this will also cash another kickoff/punt return TD prop bet that pays 12-1.
In more conservative bets, folks can bet on the opening kickoff to be a touchback (-180) or not (+150). A touchback occurs when the receiving player kneels in the endzone or when the ball goes over the goal line.
In the regular season, Eagles’ kickoffs have a 69.1 percent touchback while the Chiefs’ stands at 66.3 percent. A 50/50 (-115) Super Bowl prop will also be settled between which team receives the opening kickoff.
Diving Into The Plays
Naturally, after the kickoff, one of the teams will take possession. A pair of Super Bowl props will be determined right away when either Philadelphia Eagles or Kansas City makes its first play. Right now, the NFL odds favor a rushing play (-140) to be the first offensive play of the game.
That’s not surprising as Philadelphia rushes the ball in 50.4 percent of their offensive possessions and they also have the third-most attempts.
The Chiefs do not rush as often, using up just 39 percent of their offensive play-calling on rushing attempts. However, with Mahomes‘ injury, the team may defer to the rushing game more. They did run the ball with their first offensive possession against Cincinnati.
A prop bet on a team securing the first down is also likely to be settled here. The odds are still split with either the Chiefs or Eagles (-115) being the first to do it. It likely depends on which team receives the ball first as these teams are the two most prolific at getting a first down in the regular season.
And finally, there is a prop where bettors can cash in whether a NFL team scores within the first 90 seconds of the game. This one pays lucratively at 12-1 if either the Eagles or Chiefs register points within the first 1:30. It could be one of the Super Bowls best prop bets if bet in consideration of the kickoff return TD.
That is one way to make someone a lottery winner of sorts.
