USFL Week 4 Odds: New Orleans Favored Over New Jersey
Breakers Lone Undefeated Team in League

The USFL Week 4 odds have New Orleans as 2.5-point favorites over the New Jersey Generals in the best game of the week. The total in the game is 48, the highest of any total this week. The Breakers are the lone unbeaten team in the USFL standings 2023 after upsetting Birmingham last week.
There are three teams at 2-1 and three teams at 1-2. The Memphis Showboats are the only team still searching for a victory. Pittsburgh and Houston won for the first time last week. Birmingham and Michigan lost for the first time.

Houston Gamblers vs Philadelphia Stars
Date, time:
Location: Ford Field (Detroit, Michigan)
Stream: FOX
The Philadelphia Stars are favored y 2 over Houston with a total of 44.5. Philadelphia doesn’t look like the same team it did a season ago. But the Stars shouldn’t have many problems with Houston in this one. Philadelphia has allowed too many sacks on the season. Case Cookus has been sacked 13 times in three games, but Houston is tied for last in the league in sacks. When given time, Cookus can throw the ball.
The Gamblers scored in the final 20 seconds last week to earn their first win. While Houston looked good, the game was against winless Memphis. Both teams squandered a few chances and made some bad decisions. Just what you’d expect from a pair of 0-2 teams. The Stars -2 should be the right side of this one.
Memphis Showboats vs Michigan Panthers
Date, time:
Location: Ford Field (Detroit, Michigan)
Stream: Peacock
The USFL Week 4 odds have Michigan -6 over Memphis in a home game for the Panthers. The total on the game is 44. Michigan is 2-1 on the season after losing to New Jersey last week. Memphis is the lone 0-3 team in the USFL. The line is a bit on the low side and too much is being read into Michigan’s loss last week. The Panthers are a solid team.
Memphis hasn’t played bad in two of its three losses. But bad teams have a habit of not making plays when they’re needed most. The Showboats have fit that description perfectly. Memphis is fourth in the league in passing and seventh in total yards. Without a ground game, the Showboats are in trouble. Michigan is average defensively and can see some points scored here. The over is worth a look.

New Orleans Breakers vs New Jersey Generals
Date, time:
Location: Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium (Canton, Ohio)
Stream: Peacock
The USFL point spreads have New Orleans 2.5-point favorites over New Jersey. The total is 48. This is the best game of the week on paper and the Generals are still a bit underrated. New Jersey’s dismal performance in Week 1 has made it a decent play the last two weeks. The Generals are going to come out and run the ball against New Orleans. The Breakers are second in the league in rush defense. But they haven’t faced a team like New Jersey who will stick with the ground game.
The Generals need some success on the ground to keep the New Orleans offense off the field. The Breakers are leading the league in scoring and are No. 2 in rushing offense. With the top two rushing offenses in the USFL doing battle, the under 48 is likely the way to go in this one.
Birmingham Stallions vs Pittsburgh Maulers
Date, time:
Location: Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium (Canton, Ohio)
Stream: FS1
The USFL Week 4 odds have Birmingham -8 over Pittsburgh and a total of 43. The Stallions are coming off their first loss of the year to New Orleans. The Maulers won their first game of the year last week. Even with a loss, Birmingham is one of the best teams in the league. New Orleans was on its game last week. Birmingham wasn’t and the final score of 45-31 isn’t reflective of how New Orleans dominated. The Stallons should find the Maulers more to their liking.
Pittsburgh took advantage of three Philadelphia turnovers to post a 21-13 win. The Stars outgained the Maulers a little but couldn’t overcome its mistakes. The number is high but we have to think the Stallions are out to make amends. If you’re going to play this one, the favorite is the side to look at.
