Will Garrett Wilson Finally Break Out In Year Three?
2024 Garrett Wilson Season Odds: Having Rodgers Helps

Garrett Wilson has already proven to be one of the best young wide receivers in the game. He’s added at least 1,000 yards receiving in two consecutive years to begin his career. In these seasons, he’s played with mostly Zach Wilson and other fringe quarterbacks who probably didn’t deserve a roster spot.
Imagine what it would be like with Aaron Rodgers under the center.
That’s why the Jets were hoping to see last season. However, Rodgers tore his Achilles on opening night and never got an opportunity to throw to Wilson.
Finally, we’re back with Wilson’s third season. This time, he’ll have a reliable quarterback. Rodgers is healthy and has won the MVP multiple times, including a Super Bowl. Rodgers doesn’t have great NFL MVP odds this year, but you can never rule him out for another one.
Wilson benefits from having Rodgers, but some believe they’re not even gelling correctly. Videos already caught Wilson and Rodgers arguing on the sideline about specific routes and whatnot. Both players said it wasn’t a big deal when asked about it. But it could become a big deal if this happens on the field.
Therefore, let’s discuss the projected 2024 Garrett Wilson season odds below.

Garrett Wilson’s Receiving Yards
- 1200.5 (O/U +100/-125)
Garrett Wilson has not hit at least 1,201 yards in his first two seasons with the Jets. Wilson hasn’t missed a game since coming into the NFL, but he’s still missed out on this number.
Although he had a poor supporting cast at quarterback, Wilson’s NFL stats still reached 168 targets last year. He caught 95 last season and scored three touchdowns, averaging 11 yards per catch.
The Jets will ultimately run the football a lot. But with Aaron Rodgers, they’ll adjust to passing more.
In 2021 and 2022, Rodgers’ No. 1 target was Davante Adams. In both of those seasons, Adams earned more than 1,500 yards.
Wilson undoubtedly has the same talent as Adams and can become a star in the league. He’ll need to earn more yards per catch this season. With Rodgers under center, there’s a good chance Wilson breaks out for bigger plays this season.
Garrett Wilson Receiving Touchdowns
- 7.5 Receiving Touchdowns (O/U -135/+110)
Wilson only added seven receiving touchdowns in 34 regular-season games with the Jets, but he was part of an offense that struggled to find the red zone. There’s much more optimism that the Jets will score at a high rate with Aaron Rodgers under center.
Wilson will likely double his touchdowns from the previous season with more opportunity.
Again, let’s go back to Rodgers’ No. 1 target before the Jets. Davante Adams secured 11 touchdowns in 2021 and 14 in 2022.
All Wilson needs is eight. The 2024 Garrett Wilson season odds already favor the over at -135.
It’s not like Wilson didn’t get the targets that Adams got with Rodgers. He did. There was just more inaccuracy from the Jets quarterbacks compared to Rodgers. The four-time MVP might not have the arm strength he once had, but his accuracy will be key. That’s what kept Tom Brady in the league for so long.
We’d project Wilson to earn 10+ receiving touchdowns this season.

Garrett Wilson Receiving Yards of 1,250+ Yards
- +145
In Garrett Wilson’s rookie season, he earned 147 targets and caught 83 passes. Wilson averaged 13.3 yards per catch and earned more than 1,103 yards with Zach Wilson under center most of the time.
In 2023, Wilson caught 1,042 yards passing and hauled 95 catches on 168 targets. There were nine games where Wilson saw at least ten targets.
The Jets’ game plan was always to get Wilson the ball. He’s their No. 1 guy. It was just a hard task with borderline starting quarterbacks getting playing time with Rodgers injured.
Zach Wilson couldn’t do much, and neither could Tim Boyle. The last two seasons were a wash, but if the Jets are going to be competitive this year, Garrett will be right in the middle of that success.
New York must find ways to get Wilson the ball in open space. That’s where they lacked. Wilson has the speed and ability to earn more than 15 yards a catch. If he can even get 13 yards per catch, Wilson will be on his way to 1,250 yards receiving as long as he stays healthy.
In addition, Rodgers could be in play for the NFL Honors 2024 award as Comeback Player of the Year. He’s already the favorite to win the award, and if he plays well enough, Wilson would be a major reason why.
The 2024 Garrett Wilson season odds have some value on the Over.
