Will The Packers or Vikings Survive The Playoff Hunt on Sunday Night?
Our Packers vs Vikings Game Preview Has The Analysis You Need To Make Your Educated Pick!

SNF Analysis
The Green Bay Packers will visit the Minnesota Vikings in a pivotal matchup between NFC North teams on Sunday Night Football.
The Packers and Vikings are heading into this game with a 7-8 record. Therefore, this game is ultimately an elimination game.
The winner of this Sunday night game will boost their playoff odds heading into Week 18. However, the loser will be eliminated from contention.
Minnesota has dealt with significant NFL injuries throughout the entire season. The most recent loss was T.J. Hockenson, who tore his ACL. Hockenson is done for the season, along with starting quarterback Kirk Cousins. However, Justin Jefferson, who missed some time earlier this season, is active and the x-factor for Minnesota right now.
Can the wounded Vikings survive at home against the Packers? Oddsmakers think so. The Vikings are -2 against the spread, with the total at 46.5. The Over is juiced to -115 for this massive NFC matchup.
Let’s take a look at the Packers vs Vikings game preview below.

Day/Time:
Packers vs Vikings Game Preview
The Packers and Vikings both have just seven wins against the spread heading into their 16th game of the season.
While the Packers are 7-8 against the spread, the Vikings have gone 7-5-3. They’ve had three spread bets voided this season. Therefore, Minnesota has ultimately been more profitable against the spread this season.
Meanwhile, the Packers have hit the Over in nine of 15 games, while the Vikings have smashed the Under in ten of 15 games this year.
Oddly enough, the Vikings are just 2-5 at home, while the Packers are 3-5 on the road this season.
Earlier this season, the Vikings added a 24-10 win over the Packers on October 29. The Vikings were 1-point favorites on the road and earned a two-score win.
Green Bay Suspended CB Jaire Alexander
The Packers will be limited at cornerback on Sunday. Jaire Alexander was just suspended for one game for crashing the coin toss.
Alexander wasn’t a captain for last week’s game against the Panthers. However, because he’s from Charlotte, Alexander thought it would be a good idea to crash the coin toss.
The Packers weren’t happy with that and said he would be suspended for a game due to conduct detrimental to the team.
When Alexander did the coin toss, he didn’t know the vocabulary used for the coin toss. When the Packers won the toss, he stated that the Packers wanted to be on defense first. That’s not the same as saying that the team intends to defer. Alexander almost put the Packers in a bad situation at the beginning of the game.
T.J. Hockenson Out With Torn ACL, MCL
T.J. Hockenson was having a career year this season. The Minnesota tight end added a team-high 960 yards with 95 receptions on 127 targets.
But his season has been cut short after he was diagnosed with a torn ACL and MCL.
This happened in the third quarter after Hockenson made a 24-yard completion. He took a big hit from Detroit’s safety, Kerby Joseph, immediately got up, jogged off the field, and was ruled out of the game.
After Hockenson allowed the medical team to do some tests, it revealed that Hockenson tore his ACL and MCL.
Can Minnesota’s Offense Continue Dominant Play?
The Vikings haven’t had Kirk Cousins for half the season. They’ve also used four different quarterbacks this season and have had to deal with multiple injuries to other wide receivers and running backs this season.
It’s been a tough season for the Vikings. However, Minnesota is still in the NFL playoff hunt after all. They turned to Nick Mullens two weeks ago, and he’s delivered with over 700 yards passing in two games.
The only issue is that the Vikings have fallen short in both games where Mullens started. While he’s thrown for over 700 yards and four touchdowns, Mullens has also added six interceptions in two games.
That’s unacceptable.
However, the Packers have really struggled defensively. They’ll also be without Jaire Alexander in the secondary, which should help Mullens.
After all, the Packers have allowed at least 24 points in each of their last three games and have lost two of those three games. The one win came against the Panthers, who still scored 30 points against the Packers last week.
If Mullens can limit the turnovers, he’ll have no problems finding Justin Jefferson to score some points.
On the other hand, Jordan Love has been consistent for the Packers this season. In his first season as a starter, Love has thrown for 27 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He’s got the 10th best QBR and has thrown for over 3,500 yards.
It’s unclear if Christian Watson will return for the Packers this week. However, other guys are stepping up, including Romeo Doubs, who leads the team with 646 yards receiving and eight touchdown grabs.
Aaron Jones is also back in the lineup and had his best game last week against the Panthers.
That’s significant because the Vikings have a terrific secondary but aren’t as good against the run. If the Packers can commit to Jones, and he can earn some big gains, they’ll have no problems scoring either.
The NFL scores and odds believe the Vikings will escape with a win. Per our Packers vs Vikings game preview, we agree. You can include the Vikings in your NFL picks and parlays on Sunday night.
