2023 Stanley Cup Betting Preview: Who’s Got the Goods?
The Vegas Golden Knights -115 Fav's to Win Stanley Cup.

If you’re just checking the NHL scores page for last night’s results, the 4-0 Vegas win over the Dallas Stars doesn’t quite tell the whole story. Jamie Benn was sent packing early in the game after a cross-check to the face of Mark Stone as he lay on the ice, and goaltender Jake Oettinger was lifted after just seven minutes and some change. Vegas took a commanding 3-0 series lead in the West. The Florida Panthers also find themselves one win away from sweeping the Carolina Hurricanes in the East. Let’s continue our 2023 Stanley Cup betting preview by looking at a couple of betting options moving forward.
Vegas, Florida Favored to Win in Five
We thought this would be a long series but it’s shaping up to be anything but. However, if you think the Stars will get a win in game four there may be a chance where they can grab some momentum. NHL series price prop bet odds are giving a juicy +650 for this series to end in six. The shortest number is Vegas in five (+225).
Our prediction of Vegas winning in seven games carries the longest odds of +1200. In the Eastern Conference final, the scores and odds are similar with the Panthers giving bettors +325 in they win in five games and +550 in six. The longest Eastern odds are Florida in seven (+1400). We continue our 2023 Stanley Cup betting preview with an early look at the cup final.
Teams Of Destiny
Having two teams of destiny doesn’t help out bettors much but if the Golden Knights and Panthers make it to the final, it will be another slap in the face to traditional markets which often act as if it is blasphemous to not involve a team where cold weather is the cities dominant trait.
We’re here to tell you that it gets cold in Vegas during the Winter with snow evident in the mountains until early June. We’re not sure if that counts but you can bet that both markets will compete for the Stanley Cup Final. With all the focus on Vegas, it’s the Panthers who will bring in the more impressive resume’, starting with their improbable win against the Boston Bruins who led the league with 135 points.
The Panthers made the postseason by one point after ending the regular season with losses to the Carolina Hurricanes and Toronto Maple Leafs. After Boston, Paul Maurice’s team needed another five games to take down the Leafs who finished 19 points ahead of Florida.
The Carolina Hurricanes finished 21 points ahead of the Panthers making this run far more impressive than what the Knights have done as a 111-point club. Vegas winning the Stanley Cup would make owner Bill Foley’s prediction of cup in six a reality but in the end, we predict it will be the Panthers that will hoist their first title. That concluded our early 2023 Stanley Cup preview, we wish all bettors the best.
