Knights Can Clinch Third in the Pacific Division
Vegas to Squash Ducks per the Ducks vs Knights Odds

The Vegas Golden Knights can hit the 100-point mark in back-to-back seasons for the first time in their seven-year history with a win against the Anaheim Ducks. A win will also solidify a date with the Edmonton Oilers (104 points) in the first round of the Stanely Cup Playoffs.
Oddsmakers have opened the Knights as a massive -340 favorite with a total of 5.5 (over -138). Let’s get into our Ducks vs Knights odds preview.

Ducks Look Forward To Next Year With Gauthier In Line-up
No matter what happens in the life of Cutter Gauthier. This week will be a significant milestone for the young forward who will make his NHL debut tonight against the defending Stanley Cup champions. His NHL career will begin just four days after his Boston College Eagles lost the College Hockey Championship to the Denver Pioneers, 2-0. With nothing to lose the Ducks will throw Gauthier on the top line with Leo Carlsson (28 points) and Alex Killorn (36 points).
In short, it infuses some excitement into another forgettable season but it doesn’t change who the better team is, especially when the Golden Knights have so much to play for. Anaheim will finish in the red for bettors with -10.29 units heading into game 82 again. It will be the sixth straight season the Ducks have let their backers down, totaling 75.66 units lost.
Only the San Jose Sharks have been worse with 81.83 units lost in that span. Of the 75.66 units, 71.79 have come as an underdog with a record of 119-258 (.317). We looked back at games involving giant plus money chances to see what history tells us. Anaheim has received +260 or more nine times this season, producing a 1-8 record (-5.05 units). Since 2021, the Ducks are 6-26 (-7.45 units) using the +260 or more filter (6-20 on the road).
Senators Teach Vegas a Lesson
Tonight’s game is the same as last night’s Ottawa Senators and Boston Bruins match-up from Beantown. All Boston had to do to win the Atlantic Division was beat the Senators, who had 33 fewer points in the NHL standings. Despite being a -230 underdog, Ottawa stunned Boston 2-1, handing the Atlantic Division to the Florida Panthers.
The distance between the Knights and the Ducks may be greater (41 points) but the message is the same, never overlook your opponent. Vegas may not have a flashy scorer among the NHL points leaders or be among the odds to win the Stanley Cup. But this team has never leaned on superstars to make two Stanley Cup appearances in six seasons.
Jonathan Marchessault (42 goals, 27 assists, 69 points) is their leading scorer this season. The 42 goals place the ‘Original Misfit’ 11th but just 53rd in total points (tied with three others). No matter what happens in this match-up, the Golden Knights will finish in the red with 2.67 units lost heading into the finale.
Look For Bankroll Friendly Options
As you can imagine, the side is not an appealing option so we’ll look to the total to get our winner. The oddsmakers are making us pay a price (-138) but the over 5.5 is the best option. Vegas has been an under team for much of the season, but down the stretch over bettors have enjoyed a 5-1-1 mark.
The Knights have averaged four goals a game in those games and we think that that will be good enough to cash another over ticket, although there is a possibility that Vegas get the total by themselves. The thinking behind that is the Ducks are finishing up their season and have not played in four days. There’s no telling what some extra time in Las Vegas will do to a team’s enthusiasm that might have been more focused on an end-of-year night on the town.
Three of the last four meetings have produced totals over 5.5 and that’s where we’re going in this one for our official NHL predictions. That does it for our Ducks vs Knights odds preview, we wish you all the best with your NHL picks and parlays tonight.
