Leafs vs Panthers Betting Preview: Florida Looks for Sweep
Maple Leafs Looking for Win Despite Goalie Injury

The Leafs vs Panthers betting preview shows Toronto -125 on the road for Game 4. The total on the game is 6.5-over (-130). The surprising Panthers are trying to complete the sweep after winning Game 3 in overtime.
The Leafs simply need better production from the guys expected to score. Mitch Marner has one point this series, Austin Matthews has two and William Nylander. When your three leading scorers during the regular season are invisible in the playoffs, you’re not going to win.
The big question for Toronto entering Game 4 is the goalie situation. Ilya Samsonov was injured early in the second period of Game 3.
Maple Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe said Monday Samsonov was feeling better. So Toronto is hoping he can go. But the team won’t hesitate to go to rookie Joseph Woll if he can’t.
The surprising Panthers have gotten hot at the right time. Florida knocked off Boston in the first round and can close the door on Toronto Wednesday.
The Bruins had 43 more points than Florida in the NHL standings 2023, while the Leafs had 111 points compared to Florida’s 92. But none of that matters now.
The Panthers are getting solid play from Sergei Bobrovsky, who is living up to his contract these playoffs. He was a little shaky at times against Boston, but that had more to do with the opponent than poor play. The Panthers have confidence in him and it’s showing on the ice.
History Not Kind to Maple Leafs
The Leafs vs Panthers betting preview points out the Leafs aren’t in a great historical spot. NHL playoff road favorites who lost their last three games are just 4-5 dating back to 2011-12. These teams are even worse against the puck line, going 2-6 as a favorite.
You would expect the Leafs to play with some pride to avoid the sweep. But the Panthers are playing at a different level right now.
It’s tough to say the Leafs should be favored on the road in this one. But you can say Toronto probably deserved better in one of the first two games. Toronto hasn’t been dominated in any game and all three could have gone either way with a break here or there. But the bottom line is Florida is up 3-0.
The Leafs vs Panthers betting preview believes the key factor for the Panthers is going to be intensity. Florida can’t let up just because of the 3-0 lead. If the Panthers come to play each game, they’ll get that fourth win. It’s just a matter of what game they get it in.
The odds and scores of the NHL playoffs haven’t always been what you expect. The final outcome of this series is no different, as the Leafs were solid favorites coming into it.
The odds may shift a little bit depending on the goalie news from the Toronto camp. The value is clearly on the side of the Panthers, but the Leafs are a good team. It’s hard to imagine Toronto being swept and all comebacks begin with a single win. Have to believe Toronto is the right side in Game 4.
