The National Hockey League started off a new week post-Trade Deadline with just five games on tap, but NHL Monday games and scores saw plenty of tight action, close scores and various results for bettors. Let’s take a look at last night’s NHL scores games in review.
A pair of goals from speedster Connor McDavid helped the Edmonton Oilers pick up a 3-2 win as short road facing the Buffalo Sabres on Monday night. McDavid has now reached a career-high 124 points on the season, with 54 goals in 65 games played. Centerman Derek Ryan scored his eleventh goal of the year for the Oilers while goaltender Stuart Skinner made 37 saves on 39 shots faced for his 18th victory on the year. Goals for Buffalo scored by Jeff Skinner and Dylan Couzins. The Oilers have won three of their last four games while Buffalo has now lost three of their previous four contests overall.
Forward Tyler Toffoli scored with 6.2 seconds left in regulation to give the Calgary Flames a 5-4 decision over the Dallas Stars as road underdogs, with the game flying over the short total of 5.5 goals. Nazem Kadri, Jonathan Huberdeau and Mackenzie Weegar each picked up two assists while Elias Lindholm scored his 18th goal of the season for Calgary. Goaltender Jacob Markstrom made 29 saves on 33 shots faced for his 16th victory on the year. Winger Jason Robertson scored his 38th goal of the year on the power-play and newly acquired forward Max Domi scored his first goal with the Stars since coming over in a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks last week before the deadline. Jamie Benn scored his 26th goal of the season as Dallas had their brief three-game streak broken while Calgary ended their five-game losing stretch.
The Vancouver Canucks outlasted the Nashville Predators 4-3 in a shootout on Monday night. Forward Elias Petterson scored his 30th goal of the season and the 300th point in his National Hockey League career. Vasily Podkolzin and Dakota Joshua scored for the Canucks in regulation with Petterson being the only skater on both sides to score during the shootout. Winger Luke Evangelista scored a pair of third period goals for Nashville while defenseman Jeremy Lauzon notched a pair of assists. Rookie goaltender Arturs Silovs made 29 saves on 32 shots faced for his third career win. Vancouver has won four of their last six games overall while Nashville has won five of their last seven games with three more games left on their season-long six-game road trip.

- Defenseman Seth Jones scored two goals while newly acquired forward Anders Bjork assisted on all three Blackhawks goals in the second period as Chicago blanked out the Ottawa Senators 5-0. Forward Jason Dickinson scored his ninth goal of the year and also picked up an assist while Andreas Athanasiou recorded two assists. Goalie Alex Stalock stopped all 35 shots faced for his second shutout of the season and eleventh shutout of his career. Chicago snapped their four-game losing streak while Ottawa’s five-game winning streak came to a close.
- The Los Angeles Kings picked up a 4-2 home victory over the Washington Capitals on Monday night. Forward Adrian Kempe scored his 30th goal on the season while Viktor Arvidsson notched two assists. Philip Danault also scored for the Kings, his 19th goal of the season. Alex Ovechkin scored his 36th goal of the year and 816th of his career early in the third period for the Capitals, who have now lost eight of their last eleven games.
- Forward Tomas Hertl scored with eleven seconds left in regulation before Logan Couture scored 81 seconds into overtime as the San Jose Sharks comeback to earn a 3-2 victory on the road against the Winnipeg Jets on Monday. Couture also picked up an assist on the game-tying goal by Hertl. James Reimer was sensational in goal, making 36 saves on 38 shots faced for the victory, his tenth on the year. Newly acquired winger Nino Neiderreiter scored his 19th goal and his first goal in his forth game with the Jets since coming over from the Nashville Predators back on February 25th.
