NHL NIGHT IN REVIEW: February 27th, 2023

The National Hockey League starts up a new week as we are just five days away from the Trade Deadline, plenty of contending teams are making roster moves for the playoff push. With just five games on tap, NHL games recap and odds saw some solid action. Let’s take a look at last night’s NHL scores and odds games in review.

Results: BOS wins 3-2
NHL Over/Under: 6.5 Over -115, BOS -140/EDM +120

Defenseman Dmitry Orlov picked up a pair of assists as the Boston Bruins win 3-2 on the road against the Edmonton Oilers for their seventh straight victory. Forwards Nick Foligno and Pavel Zacha scored for Boston, while goaltender Jeremy Swayman made 22 saves on 24 shots faced for his 15th victory of the season.

Superstar Connor McDavid scored both goals for Edmonton, bringing his season total to 50. The Edmonton Oilers have now lost six of their last eight games overall, while Boston has earned a point in nine of their last eleven contests.

Results: VAN wins 5-4
NHL Over/Under: 6 Under -115, VAN +225/DAL -260

Forward Anthony Beauvillier scored two goals in regulation and assisted on the game-winner by Andrei Kuzmenko just 48 seconds into overtime as the Vancouver Canucks beat the Dallas Stars 5-4 in the extra session, giving the Stars their sixth loss in the last seven games.

Kuzmenko, who scored his 28th goal of the season, also picked up two assists while defenseman Quinn Hughes recorded three assists for the Canucks, who now have earned at least one point in four of their last five games overall. Newly acquired forward Evgenii Dadonov scored his first goal with Dallas since leaving from the Montreal Canadiens. Forward Jamie Been also scored a goal and an assist.

Results: COL wins 3-0
NHL Over/Under: 6 Over +100, VGK +120/COL -140

Continuing our NHL games recap and odds preview: Goaltender Alexandar Georgiev made 31 saves en route to his third shutout of the season and eleventh of his career as the Colorado Avalanche extend their winning streak to six games with the 3-0 home victory over the Vegas Golden Knights. Forward Mikko Rantanen scored twice, putting him at 40 goals on the season, while Nathan MacKinnon scored the empty net goal for insurance purposes late in the contest.

Goalie Adin Hill made 31 saves on 33 shots faced despite the losing effort. The Golden Knights have now lost three of their last four games, but have earned at least one point in nine of their last ten contests overall.

  • Veteran forward Claude Giroux scored a goal and picked up three assists as the Ottawa Senators beat down the Detroit Red Wings by a final score of 6-2 on Monday evening. Defenseman Thomas Chabot scored a goal and two assists, while goals also came from Brady Tkachuk, Tim Stutzle, Jake Sanderson and Drake Batherson. Cam Talbot made 22 saves on 24 shots faced to pick up his 13th victory on the season. These two teams play again in Ottawa on Tuesday night.
  • Forward Troy Terry scored his 16th goal of the season and Mason Mctavish picked up three assists as the Anaheim Ducks beat the Chicago Blackhawks 4-2, snapping the Hawks’ five-game winning streak. Backup netminder Lukáš Dostál made 24 saves on 26 shots faced for his third victory of the year. Petr Mrazek was solid despite the loss, making 29 saves on 33 shots faced. Forward Tyler Johnson scored a goal and an assists for Chicago.
