The National Hockey League heads into the Month of March with six games on tap, NHL Wednesday games recap saw plenty of good action on the ice. Let’s take a look at last night’s NHL scores games in review.
Forward Vladimir Tarasenko scored the game-winning goal in overtime for the New York Rangers as they beat the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 as large road favorites. Tarasenko also had a pair of assists in regulation on goals scored by Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider, the latter of which came midway into the third period, which tied the contest. Goaltender Igor Shesterkin made 26 saves on 28 shots faced for the victory, his 27th on the season. Philadelphia has now lost four straight games and eight of their last nine contests overall.
Jack Eichel scored a pair of goals as the Vegas Golden Knights beat the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2 as short home underdogs. Reilly Smith scored his 20th goal of the season, and Adin Hill earns his 15th victory of the season, making 18 saves on 20 shots faced, an uncharacteristically low shot total for Carolina. The Hurricanes have now lost in regulation for just the third time in the last 18 games and their first time with consecutive losses since a four-game losing streak back between January 7th and January 10th of this year.
Forward Dawson Mercer scored a goal in his seventh consecutive game along with chipping in three assists as the New Jersey Devils survive a 7-5 decision on the road against the Colorado Avalanche. Forward Nathan MacKinnon scored two goals, while Artturi Lehkonen picked up two assists and Valeri Nichushkin scored a goal and an assist for Colorado, who had their six-game winning streak snapped with this loss.

- Tom Wilson scored two goals, including the overtime game winner as the Washington Capitals beat the Anaheim Ducks as big road favorites by a final score of 3-2. Anaheim goalie John Gibson turned in another bright performance despite the loss, making 36 saves on 39 shots faced. The Ducks had their three-game wins streak cut off and have now lost seven of their last ten games overall.
- Winger Tyler Seguin scored two goals and added an assist in the Dallas Stars‘ 4-2 victory at home over the Arizona Coyotes. Defenseman Mikko Heiskanen scored the eventual game-winner in the third period for his eighth goal of the season. Goaltender Jake Oettinger made 18 saves on 20 shots to give the Stars just their second victory in the last eight contests.
- Superstar Connor McDavid had two goals and an assist as the Edmonton Oilers beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-2 as road underdogs. McDavid now has 108 points on the season, leading all skaters in the National Hockey League. Forward Mitch Marner had a goal and an assist for the Maple Leafs, who had their three-game win streak come to a close. Edmonton has won three of their last five games overall.
