NHL Tuesday Game Predictions & Analysis

Monday’s NHL Picks Went to Bettors With Eight Winners in 10 Games

Our NHL predictions on today’s eight-game card start with the Seattle Kraken (26-13-4, 56 pts) traveling North to take on the Edmonton Oilers (23-18-3, 49 points). The Pacific Division is heating up with five NHL teams within even points of the Vegas Golden Knights.

With a win, the Kraken will tie Vegas with 58 points with a game in hand. Before that, the Minnesota Wild (24-14-4, 52 points) head to the nation’s capital to take on the Caps. The Wild are seven points behind the Winnipeg Jets in the Central, while Washington trails the Carolina Hurricanes by eight in the Metro.

Date, Time & Streaming:
Moneyline: Oilers -175, Kraken +145
Puckline: Oilers -1.5 (+135), Kraken +1.5 -165
Total: 6.5 o -135

Word is that Evander Kane will return to the Oilers lineup tonight, giving Jay Woodcroft a much need boost to his line-up. You can guarantee that news alone will push bettors toward Edmonton.

Early lines had Edmonton as a -150 favorite, but sharp bettors knew that there was a possibility that Kane would return, which pushed this number up to -170 at some East Coast locations as windows opened for action. History tells us that the overreaction to a big-name NHL player coming back is hardly ever the correct reaction.

Even if Kane returns bettors must think about the trickle-down effect as everyone below him must change line partners. The Kraken just had their eight-game win streak snapped by the Tampa Bay Lightning yesterday, with the NHL point spreads being kind enough to give them a one-off game at home after a seven-game road trip before heading out for the second of back-to-back games.

Part of what has put Dave Hakstol’s team in a position to catch Vegas is their terrific play on the road where they’ve won 16 of 22 for bettors this season.

Seattle leads the NHL in money won by players overall with 1180 units, and money won by road teams with 1480 units in the bank. Our first NHL Tuesday game predictions are to take the Kraken and the generous plus money.

Wild logoMinnesota Wild vs Capitals logoWashington Capitals:

Game: Wild 24-14-4, 52 points vs Capitals 24-16-6, 54 points
Date, Time & Streaming:
Moneyline: Wild -120, Capitals Even
Puckline: Wild -1.5 (+210), Capitals +1.5 -255
Total: 6 -110

The Washington Capitals are feeling pretty good about themselves after stunning the New York Islanders with four unanswered goals to steal a road game while snapping a two-game losing streak. You would be hard-pressed to find a team more dangerous than Washington as they netted four more five-on-five goals, a stark contrast to the begging of the NHL season when they struggled to find room on the ice.

They’re playing with much more confidence over the last month, making it difficult to play their games under, even though 25 of their 45 games have failed to go over. Their recent form will show that six of their last nine have flown over.

Wild Head Coach Dean Evason has rotated goaltenders so expect Fillip Gustavson to start in net for the Wild despite the fact that Marc-Andre Fleury looks locked in again. For the Caps, Charlie Lindgren will be in net with Darcy Kuemper getting that nod against the Islanders in the first of back-to-back games. Let’s put our money behind the over in this one.

Panthers logoFlorida Panthers vs Maple Leafs logoToronto Maple Leafs:

Game: Panthers 21-20-4, 46 points vs Maple Leafs 26-11-7, 59 points
Date, Time & Streaming:
Moneyline: Maple Leafs -175, Panthers +145
Puckline: Maple Leafs -1.5 (+140), Panthers +1.5 -165
Total: 6.5 o -112

To conclude our NHL Tuesday game predictions, we go to Toronto where the Leafs hope to bounce back after a 4-3 loss to the division-leading Boston Bruins, Saturday (4-3). The loss broke a three-game win streak and kept the Leafs a distant 13 points out of first. Florida is over the NHL matchups.

500 mark with five wins in their last seven games. They’re still on the outside of the playoff picture, with games like this presenting an opportunity to start knocking off teams ahead of them.

Expect a sense of urgency for Toronto after dropping a game that they surely had circled. The defending Presidents Cup Trophy winner has not had a great season but will keep Toronto’s interest enough for there not to be a letdown.

The number has dropped some after the news that there was a flu bug going through the Toronto Maple Leafs. Unless that bug is taking guys down named Mathews, Marner, and Nylander, there’s very little reason to overreact. To conclude our Tuesday NHL game prediction on this one, we recommend taking the Leafs in regulation so you don’t have to lay -170.

Jets logoWinnipeg Jets vs Canadiens logoMontreal Canadiens

Game: Jets 29-14-1, 59 points vs Canadiens 18-23-3, 39 points
Date, Time & Streaming:

The Central Division-leading Jets have won three straight games, and eight of their last nine, Both teams are coming off 2-1 games, with the Jets winning theirs against the Arizona Coyotes, while the Habs were beaten by the New York Rangers. Expect this game to be a little more wide-open than expected. There’s a reason that the over is -120 with two teams that have cashed under tickets all season. Stay out of the trap, bet the over.

Wait For the Highlights

Ducks logoAnaheim Ducks vs Flyers logoPhiladelphia Flyers

Game: Ducks 12-27-5, 29 points vs Flyers 18-19-7, 43 points
Date, time & Streaming:

The Ducks are getting some healthy plus money here, and this is certainly not the highlight of our NHL Tuesday game predictions, but the Ducks +1.5 (+155) is the only option. We’re not sure how the Flyers will respond after getting annihilated (6-0) by the Boston Bruins, yesterday. If you’re feeling good about this, perhaps a shot with the Ducks (+165).

That does it for NHL picks. Let’s hope the players can continue their incredible run.
